Sharks look like they're dropping off in the race. Any way we could turn Monahan into Hertl?
Any way at all?
Gaudreau - Lindholm - Tkachuk
Mangiapane - Hertl - Toffoli
Dube - Backlund - Coleman
Lucic - Ruzicka - Lewis
Just absorb that roster.

There have been rumours for months now about the Kraken moving 31 year old LW Marcus Johansson before the deadline. He's 6'1", can play C, skates very well, and has been known throughout his career as an excellent defensive forward. This year with the Kraken, he has 17 pts in 38 games, but he has had some very good offensive seasons in the past, including a 58-pt season with the Caps in 2016-17. He makes 1.5M this season, then goes UFA.

Hertl's 'SJ Special' deal has a 3 team trade list. I'd imagine we weren't on it when he submitted it, and I doubt he'd want to widen it, unless it was for a contender with cap space next year who might be willing to do him a big long-term deal (8 years).
It would be really interesting to know who the SJ guys put on their lists each year.

Seravalli says the Ducks are willing to part with 31 yo RW Jakob Silfverberg. I really like him as a player-he's 6'1"207lbs, and plays a fantastic two-way game, just really sound in his own zone, and a bit chippy. Two problems though-his cap hit is 5.25M for two more years, and his offence has stalled a bit (3 goals and 17pts in 45 games).

1) Knights
2) kings
3) ducks
*order may vary
Goes the same for any team in California/Vegas with trade protection.

At that hit and current production I'd say no thanks. We couldn't take on that money anyways.

He would have been an option before Toffoli.
Unless Tre can find a screaming deal on a depth D, I think they run with the team they have today.

Sharks are hurting on goalie prospects.
Monahan + Wolf for Hertl

Hertl would bring in a 1st round pick+ easily without stapling the continuing cap hit of Monny to the deal.
If you value Wolf as a 1st, you are short quite a bit.

Without dipping into the prospect pool, the Flames don't have the assets to make many more deals. We have two 2nds (ours and Florida's), a 5th, and a 7th available in the next draft. Unless Treliving wants to take the next draft off, the Flames are likely done for this deadline. We definitely aren't going big game hunting.

I'd bet we see a #7/8 D added for a B or C prospect and a mid round 2023 pick. Agree that's about all we can do unless we're trading Monahan, Valimaki, Wolf, Coronato... Just don't see the appetite to do that

Yeah, depending on how the coaching staff feels about Valimaki and Mackey, the only addition I see coming is a rental left shot veteran bottom pairing Dman who will be insurance in case Hanifin, Kylington or Zadorov get injured.
I'm going to guess Robert Hagg.

I’d love MJ, but where does he fit? Pushes Dube out of the lineup most likely, which is a bad move for long term.

I really firmly believe we shouldn’t trade Wolf. He’s the future of the net after Markstrom starts to tail off/end of his contract.

If anything he’d push Ruzicka to the press box which wouldn’t be the end of the world even though I think Ruzi has played extremely well and looks to be accepting the 4th role as he’s been playing heavier. It’s a tough call, it’s almost guaranteed an injury will occur at some point as it’s the nature of the game so going out and getting a Jarnkrok or a Johansson plus the same type of add on the backend is a prudent decision and builds this team up for a deep run.
Forward hopefuls for me
Connor Brown
Jarnkrok
Johansson
Defensive hopefuls
Braun
Stecher
Chara (maybe… I’ve done a lot of reading on him and it sounds like he’s really lost a step this season, NYI fans want him gone badly lol)

I have really liked the 4th line with Ruzicka at C. I could only possibly see an upgrade on Lewis but he seems to be one of the players Sutter really likes on the PK.
I just don't really see where a Jarnkrok or Johansson fit in the lineup and you don't wanna trade for someone like either of those 2 and then have them sit in the press box for long stretches. At that point I think we have prospect options available that can cover for any injuries.

Jarnkrok has taken upwards of 700 to 900 faceoffs in multiple seasons, is a righty, and gives our faceoff alignments options. I’d happily play him on a line with Lucic and Lewis while subbing in Ruzicka every 3rd or 4th game to keep him fresh. He can swap too with Lewis as well as he plays RW.
Gaudreau - Lindholm - Tkachuk
Mangiapane - Backlund - Coleman
Dube - Monahan - Toffoli
Lucic - Ruzicka/Jarnkrok - Lewis/Jarnkrok
