Hey, if you'd been holed up in a semi-truck with your kids for 22 days you might be inclined to resort to drastic action to get them to play outside too...

I think this at all protests - and there's probably something out there - but always wonder what the psychology is behind sticking around to be arrested at these things. There's always a point where its over and your basically just waiting to be arrested.
Is it just a pride thing - that you stuck it out? Hoping that someone will do something crazy and incite a riot?

He's also made a list of towing companies to incite his followers. But the emergency measures compels these towing companies to do the job under punishment of fines and imprisonment(I think, if I read that right).

I think some of it is a bit of denial about the consequences. They never thought it through because they don't think there will be any repercussions.

Let's say for a moment I was protesting something I truly believe in, with all my heart and soul. That I felt that democracy, freedom and the future was truly at steak.
But an oppressive, authoritarian police force was coming to break it up, and arrest those protesting.
I would do whatever it took to keep my kid safe. He'd be behind me, hidden, or far far away.
What kind of person uses their child as physical protection? Your job is to protect them, not the other way around.

Maybe? There might also be a 'Groupthink/Peer Pressure' element as well?
One day your life will go back to normal and people will be talking about this and they probably didnt come alone, maybe they attended with friends and family and nobody wants to be the wuss who left first?
I really dont know.
Then again, I dont really know what kind of radical injustice it would take for me to take part in something like this either, so I acknowledge that I dont understand the ethos behind all of this.
They're chanting for 'Freedom' and 'Justice' but thats all just nonsense buzzwords that I decry our Government using to get out of actually dealing with issues.
I mean, they are free and there really wasnt any injustice. Certainly not anything egregious enough to warrant this. And then its just escalated to asset seizure and actual real-world consequences. And for what?
This whole thing seems like a farce. The protest is ridiculous, law enforcement and authorities have been laughably incompetent so...yeah, I hope it was worth it to freeze their asses off in Ottawa in February?

They also don't seem to understand that most of the public is against them. They live in their little echo chambers and it has convinced them that they are the majority and Canadians are united to support them. They surround themselves with only opinions that agree with their's.

Not just whispers, he claimed to have lost his leg in Afghanistan. The reality is he fell off a roof, didn't take care of the injury, and had to have it amputated. Real winner to rally behind. He's a massive piece of trash.

I think whats really driving all this how the political class, the wealthy and the media all colluded together to pass the financial burden of the pandemic entirely onto the working class.
The rich got richer (way richer, the transfer of wealth from the poor to the rich has been of historical proportions) , the political class has remained untouched and the media continued along its death spiral into mistrust and irrelevance. Those with the least to give were asked to give the most by the people sitting comfortably. There's lots thats going on at the protest I don't agree with, but I can't tell those people not to be pissed off. They have great reasons to be pissed, but they all have different reasons and the summation of the whole is a big mess that's drawing instigators and lunatics like moths to a flame. What recourse do they have other than get together in a big angry mob?

I hate the use of the term 'working class'. These are rural and perhaps you could use the term blue collar. Working class in this case seems to dismiss all the people working part time jobs or minimum wage jobs. Very hard to be poor and buy a big rig truck.

This entire debacle has easily been the most embarrassing thing I've seen in this country in my lifetime. F*** these deplorable s***bags.
Also, f*** the Ottawa police for doing absolutely nothing for weeks on end and forcing the Feds to step in and do their jobs for them. It's beyond shameful, and I sincerely hope there's a thorough investigation into these failures.
