Flames now 3rd in goal differential (+52), and only 4 behind first (Colorado and Florida with +56), with one game in hand against Florida.
Goal differential is an uncanny way of ranking the best teams in the league. It usually correlates to the regular standings, but not always. I personally look at it as an indication of which teams might surprise in the playoffs in the actual standings don't quite line up.
