Loubo's take in this segment is really hard to listen to.

Sounds spaced out today.

I've been a big Treliving critic for a while, but this sure seems to be the right move at the right time. And the price seems completely acceptable to me.

I don't think it can be understated how big a deal it is to get this done while the Flames still have 38 regular season games to go. That's tons of time to get Toffoli integrated into the lineup.

Treliving and Sutter certainly seem to be on the same page this season, as all the moves seem to be designed to get Darryl the right kind of players for the style of game he wants them to play. So that's another big thumbs up for Treliving. I'll concede that maybe we're through the growing pains with Brad now and he's getting better and improving.

And the Flames could trade TT in 2 years at the deadline themselves.

I don't think this Oiler fan realizes he isn't a UFA

Also, this draft doesn't look great...Flames can probably get their guy in the 2nd round or later

Sorry. Can you post this in the Fire Treliving thread and bump it up....

With the Olympics on I'm guessing Lou hasn't slept in 6 days...

Speaking about an "horrendous team."... I see no difference.

Not only is he not a free agent but his contract is a steal. This is a player in his last 89 games has 70 points and is making $4.25 for 2 more years after this year?

We also made the deal and did not trade our first in 23 or Pelletier, Zary, Valimaki, Wolf, Coronato? Sign me up for a huge win of a deal.

This probably happens because we didn't need to wait until the trade deadline to get it done. This gives Toffoli an extra month to build chemistry, What a great trade!

They're comparing it to their acquiring AA.

Flames going all in on a "mediocre team"

Lucic looks sooooo happy! Mony looks... like Mony.

I'm ecstatic. I've wanted Toffoli since he was drafted. This just seems too good to be true!

Super stoked to have Toff in our lineup. The team has been busting their butts, Greta to see Tre rewarding them with an asset. GFG

what stuns me about the Toffoli contract is that he signed that deal without any NMC/NTC type of protection. Extremely team-friendly deal.

Very solid deal.

1st plus B prospect, a 5th, and a cap dump. Flames get a consistent and cost controlled second line winger (who can play both wings), with a little term.

Best deadline-ish deal the Flames have made in a while.

A bit late to the party. Just came to say I love it.

Any tearful "Calgary massively overpaid for this" reactions from the Oilers' forums yet?

Flames can probably trade TT for a first in 2 years if they want to depending on how things go

He checks off a lot of the boxes: Right hand shot, Darryl coached him in LAX, Muller coached him in MTL, Monahan's old linemate in junior, tenure left on his contract, cap friendly number, Lucic mentored him in LA.
