And as always a treat for the eyes from Zamler
The first two periods were excruciating. Slow, bad play by both teams and just far too close for my liking. Then the Flames woke up in the third and the Islanders started showing the fatigue of a back to back and the Flames beat them DOWN. Yet another win, and 2 points closer to 1st in the Pacific. Aww yeah, love when the team cashes in on the banked game in hand points.

Wow. Isles got Sutter’ed.
Only watched the third, and that’s probably when NY would have shown some fatigue, but my goodness the Flames were absolutely suffocating them. Absolutely no time or space due to a relentless forecheck, and that was with the Flames up by a goal.
Backlund’s line was especially good — causing turnovers, creating chances, and just hounding them all over the ice. I think we may have found something special here.
Outscoring opponents 16-4 on this home stand. Bring on Columbus.
