The Flames are suddenly rolling at the Saddledome, much to the delight of a half-capacity crowd that can once again enjoy a wobbly pop and Pocket Dawg as they cheer on their faves. After returning from the break with back-to-back victories over the Vegas Golden Knights and Toronto Maple Leafs, the locals have now strung together five straight Ws on their home ice.
1. The Flames won the first meeting of 2021-22, spoiling the grand opening of brand-new UBS Arena with a 5-2 victory in mid-November. The Islanders, however, seem to be awfully comfortable on Canadian soil. Prior to a 3-1 loss to the Oilers in Edmonton on Friday night, the Isles were perfect in four games north of the border this season.

I remember the Sportsnet pickle glitch, and Jobu is always welcome in the GDT (especially since he helped defeat the Anaheim curse). But what about the red cars? I’m pretty sure they started in the GT a few years back, but can’t remember the specifics (I think we had a comeback that game)…

I used to do that when they were down. I’d post a picture of a rally car to rally the team. I always chose a red car for Flames colors, so it just morphed into people posting pictures of red cars.
