So the true Book of Boba Fett was all the friends he made along the way after escaping the Sarlacc.

Best part of The Book of Boba Fett was Din Djarin, Grogu, Luke, Ahsoka, and Rancor.
...for a series starring Boba Fett, that kinda bummed me out.
I had fun with the season, but I wouldn't say it was good or on par with The Mandalorian Season 1 or 2.

The big final battle of the series and I was utterly bored watching it. Nothing made sense (yes, let's gather all our fighters to the same spot instead of flanking anyone), the droids were supposed to be menacing but couldn't hit ####, and the emo biker gang is the stupidest group to ever grace Star Wars (and that's a high bar to clear in a universe with Ewoks and Gungans). The only good episodes in this series were the ones that didn't have any of the main characters involved, the rest felt like Star Wars presented by The CW
Hope they just let Boba retire, he's a #### character with #### friends (save Mando) on a #### planet. Enough

So they stayed in the burnt sanctuary because they needed to "protect their people" right? What people were they protecting. They were all alone and outnumbered. The people didn't give a ####. They never did since the start of the show. They could've shown Boba earning the town's respect over the course of the plot, but they abandoned it for two Mando episodes instead.
It felt like they watched 8 years olds enact this battle in a playground then put it to script.
Rancor was cool until it went full king kong.
I thought it was supposed to be this lumbering, slow-moving monstrosity.
Why not take out Slave-1 and blast them all to hell (including the scorpion droids)?
I'd like to think our heroes would at least employ some of the logic that we would. Boba was playing down to the enemy and just going for style points with the Rancor while risking his life unnecessarily. He had no qualms using his ship to face the sarlacc. Strange to ditch it when you could use it most.
While it was watchable, this show was a series of questionable decisions.
Going to need Obi-Wan to be head and shoulders above this.

Even Slave 1's weapons wouldn't have gotten through the Scorpion Droid shields.
Plus just from the cool factor it had to be the Rancor I guess. In no way was this series as good as the Mandalorian. It had some neat elements, but the pacing was slow, and some of the plot points weren't well thought out.

I agree with most of your points, but I think it was a lot of filler to hammer home one main plot point.
Mando believes in the Mandalorian Code, which Fett doesnt, and stayed with Fett against insurmountable odds.
I assume at some point that show of honour is going to come back when Mando is going to need Fett.
Granted, I dont know what he's going to need Fett for. Its not like Fett appears all that useful at the moment.

Star Wars isn’t one to give much on specific power scaling, but unless the droids have some kind of experimental tech I have a hard time believing that weapons rated to defeat starfighter class shielding couldn’t wear down and penetrate these. Or maybe you mean Slave 1’s guns specifically are too weak, since Jango couldn’t even hurt Obi Wan’s tiny glider despite turbo shooting it for an extended sequence.

I think the other factor is these are local criminals fighting a low stakes local turf war. If you go to space there are new republic x-wings on patrol.
And tatooine is a desert crap hole. The Pykes control an inter stellar drug trade to the planet and their troops have to fly commercial. This isn't "control of the galaxy" level stakes.

But then they even ditch those and just do a barehanded dog pile for no reason. Are they trying to capture him completely unharmed?
Then a few minutes later he rejoins the rest of the gang carrying a bunch of them on his back still. Did he stumble across the entire city with them just hanging on? Then of course he gets shot a bunch of times (not nearly enough given how slow and big a target he is out in the open) but is fine to join the escape and even fight the droid later. That’s GoT Battle of Winterfell stuff right there.
Speaking of which, unless Boba somehow snuck the rancor into a nearby building earlier, he sure did manage to get back to the palace, retrieve it and return in a pretty damn short period of time. Another trick from the Daenerys Dragon Rescue manual.

i'm assuming he went back to the palace. earlier in the battle he fired the rocket from his jet pack. when he returns on the rancor, he's got another rocket loaded into the jet pack

The season and the finale were a homerun, even if it maybe wasn't a masterpiece. And that's OK.
The thing I love about this show (and Mando) is that it's accessible, but still salts in some cool nerd stuff and fan service. Cad Bane is a cool villain even if you haven't seen Clone Wars. If you have, it makes it even better.
Jon and Dave should have the keys to the SW legacy is all I will say.

See to me and the old Boba Fett, what would have been in character for him, was when things were hopeless and he goes, "I need to um go get some help, I'll be back" and he rockets off on his jet pack.
Then the next scene you see him on Slave 1 munching on a chicken drumstick wile listening to his friends screaming on the radio and a big bag of money and spice from the Pikes on the seat beside him.

That assassin/sidekick chick was the some of the worst acting I've seen a while. Like, just a bunch of awkward lines and clumsy posing. Pretty much on par with (or maybe even worse?) than the guy from Iron Fist.

I think it showed some warts in their product that they need to go about correcting with future shows. Such as keeping the focus on the titular character that your show is named after.
But to each their own!
