Do people not realize they were playing a back to back?

That was a pretty gutsy win on a BTB where the other team was skating hard, IMO. I can’t fault the effort at all.

At the start of the year, I wondered if the Flames defence as a whole would be able to contribute a total of 20 goals which they hit tonight. They did not seem to have one guy who would drive a lot of offence back there. With 9 points in his last 10 games Hanifin is right there with Kylington and Anderson on a near 40 point pace. If those three end up with over 35 points that might be the surprise of the season for me. Even Tanev now has 16 on the season. If you can get a guy like him adding 30 points with how good he is defensively that really bodes well.

Like, who wins both games of a back to back against two top playoff teams by a combined score of 11-2?

Wow! I *really* enjoyed that game...had a little of everything we love! Tension, big hits, quick comeback goal followed by a batch more...all underpinned by fantastic goaltending and a (pretty) relentless hitting/checking defence. Once again, no passengers.

Don't know how he does it, but Darryl seems to be able to get this team ready to play, big time, most games. Wow.

In Sutter we trust.

And the shots were a bit misleading.

High danger chances were 8-8, expected goals were pretty equal.

Money puck had it as a 50/50 game.

Leafs were just throwing a lot of pucks at the net but Flames limited quality.

It's always a good day when you spank the Leafs. Nice W. The swedes are in gull go mode right now.
