Right off the hop he awkwardly says of Playfair and Tippett, “relieve them of their jobs”. He makes it sound like he knows he’s being merciful.

Oiler fans on the other forum are talking about how Woodcroft likes to play a 1-3-1 system and doesn't like stretch passes, that's going to go over well with the Wondertwins.

It will be fine, because those two just do whatever the hell they want, anyways.

The 19:50 mark is something else. Listen to him attempt to spit out an answer to the question about goaltending. Wow

He fits in perfectly up there - loves to remind people of all the great things he accomplished in the past.

That reliance he has on his "gut instinct" must be terrifying to their fan base.

Holland talked about how he hired Jeff Blashill straight from the AHL as a comparison and did a tremendous job with The Red Wings.

Of course there was the obligatory mention of Cups.

“What?!?”

Why is he mentioning cups when they can’t make the playoffs on a regular basis?

After drafting McDavid, one question, if the Oilers would have continually asked themselves, would have helped them avoid the relentless failure they have pursued like stink to garbage.

“Is this a short cut?”

Of course they would require honesty & clarity to appropriately answer the question, which they are allergic to, but it’s besides the point.

Chiarelli, Reinhart, McClelland, Captaincy, Lucic, Larson, Nicholson, Holland, & so on…. Short cut, short cut short cut.

They try to speed farm.

There is no speed farming.

Yet they continue to try.

Woodcroft is another speed farming short cut.

Bringing in the AHL coach.

The sales job is epic.

Based on Baghdad Bob talking to Jeff Marek, you would think the Bakersfield Condors are two time defending Calder Cup champs teeming with and driven by prospects under the age of 25 pushing the NHL starters for jobs.

Uhhhh….

No.

No they are not.

That was an epic fail by all accounts.

If 90% of these things are to inspire confidence on the part of all stakeholders he inspired none.

There is a certain 37yo HOF lock goaltender that is sure to be available at the deadline. He stood on his head in th 2nd period yesterday. But, he would be able to veto any destination, according to the Chicago press. Icould see a play for Fleury.

This presser is amazing. Clearly Holland road the wave of everyone under him being great in Detroit.

He might want to learn that one of his coaches is named Gulutzan and not Guluckson.

Reminds me of a scene from a mob movie where one of the idiot top bosses rambles trying to save his live and then someone comes up behind and offs him.

When a team goes through 10 head coaches in 9 years, I don't think coaching is the problem. But in Edmonton, maybe the 11th time is the charm?

I think sooner rather than later EDM would make a couple of (gut-feeling) desperation trades that will bite them for years.
He knows the answer, he was just being professional. What is the answer? Replace those two with better goalies. Sure, maybe it could have been a tactic in the past to motivate the goalies to be better, but he knows that it won't last long.

Heres the thing. Coaching may not be the problem. But its also probably not...not the problem.

The problem with the Oilers is the Oilers.
