Wonder if Eric Staal gets a contract after the Olympics. A 6'4" center that could slide onto a 4th line somewhere.

Rask is gone, Marchand has to be on thin ice, Debrusk wants out.
Bring back Gio, then Markstrom, Monahan, Hanifin for Marchand, Hall, Debrusk. This will clean up the Monahan contract, might be enough room to sign both JG and Matthew, if not move Matthew to Columbus for Laine + +. Gio slots back in seamlessly.
Can our back up step it up?...he has the size/tools and is cheap.

This is straight fantasy. Might as well post trade suggestions for McDavid. No doubt your proposal will be ripped apart. It also lacks logic or any critical thought. We trade Markstrom and run with the goalie who Sutter hasn’t trusted in nearly 2 months? Boston moves one of their franchise all time players in Marchand?
Your Tkachuk for Laine trade is nuts. Let’s move a guy who is the heartbeat of the team for one of the most lazy and entitled players in the league?
Are you a firm believer in selling high or getting high?

I still find it odd that we wasn't signed.
He's better than several of the Flames players.

"Team is winning, better blow it to high hell!"
Starting to think you're not as new around here as you say, lol.
I think bringing Gio back in is an absolute disaster at this point. these guys have an in room beat and leadership vibe that's completely different than any of the last 10 years. Why risk it? Gio just isnt that good anymore... it's not worth it.

I believe that there was a rumour that he was planning to sign with a team late in the season. He wanted to wait to see who gives in the best chance to win a Cup.

Mark Stone conveniently injured for the rest of the season (assuming the regular season). How convenient.
Looks like Vegas won’t have to pawn off Dadonov or Smith

Ya this is straight BS but not at all surprising. 9.5M player gets to rest up for the playoffs while the $10M gets to play 35 games to get back into the swing of things and they don’t have to trade anyone

Vegas was able to escape cap prison again?!!
This is why I laugh at the notion of the flames having too many cap problems to sign Tkachuk and Gaudreau.

Why is Marchand on thin ice?
Because he's been nasty?
That's like saying Johnny is on thin ice because he's been scoring.

The rule of thumb is, if you at any point feel the above sentiment during the process of putting together any trade proposal, then it probably should be scrapped lol

Big deal. Would you rather win the division with the team you have or make the playoffs while not having to lose a couple of key pieces while adding a star power forward for the playoff run? Mark Stone is a big piece of that team but so is Reilly Smith and William Karlsson, this way they can circumvent the cap to keep them all. It is bs.

Seems Jarmo is open to trade offers for Roslovic and Domi. Roslovic is RFA and Domi is UFA.
Wonder if they do a straight swap for Monahan and Dube. Roslovic is one of Tkachuks good friends, his homecoming to Columbus hasn't gone as he'd like so he might get reinvigorated playing with his buddy. Domi is a gritty forward that can play either wing and I think would be more effective than Dube at this point. Dube needs more time to develop.
Not sure how line combos could go but would be a good trade for both teams.
