If I was a coherent Oiler fan - if there is such a thing - I would be absolutely beside myself that this guy was the GM. No concept of why this team is so bad. At first, I thought he is ignoring talking about what is really wrong with the team he built because he wants to save his own ass but I'm beginning to believe he just really has no clue.

I'm honestly not sure he remembered what the press conference was about halfway through. It could be argued that he didn't even remember the questions he was being asked while trying to answer them.

It was kind of sad to watch.

It's also buyout proof.... making it worse, if you buy him out any year from now until 2030... you save less than a million at best per year - if they buyout him out early, you save more in the first few seasons until his signing bonus comes in at 2026... but you get hit hard after that no matter when you buy him out. What a bad structured contract for the Oilers.
