Is JT Walsh one of the most typecast jerks in all of Hollywood? He’s played a scumbag in basically every role he’s ever done. It’s hard to think of another guy who has consistently played a total dbag in every role he’s ever had.

Was; J. T. Walsh died almost 25 years ago.
And his character in A Few Good Men wasn't a bad guy per se.

Highly recommend the movie Beans from last year. Went to see it at Eau Claire last summer and watched it again this morning. About the Oka crisis in Quebec from the perspective of a young First Nations girl on the inside of the reserve. Topical given the humming and hawing over the military getting involved in Ottawa like they did at Oka. One of the best Canadian movies I've seen in the last few years.
Red Notice is so awful it’s an achievement in ####ty filmmaking. And not in the “it’s so bad it’s good”. More like with each passing minute it gets worse and worse until when it’s over a wave of relief washes over you and you think it’s remarkable it didn’t tank all three of Rock, Reynolds and Gadot’s careers. Apparently it cost $200m to make. Netflix deserves every bit of ridicule they get for green lighting absolutely anything and producing complete and utter trash.
Watched Arrival yesterday. I have always been a huge fan of sci fi films like that, similar to Contact. Arrival was the perfect slow burner from start to finish.

Another Villeneuve masterpiece. My favorite current director, bar none.

The first half had me thinking it wasn’t nearly as bad as I’d been led to believe.
Then from the party scene to the bull fight to final battle it went from bad to worse to abomination.
Totally forgettable movie- I watched it, and remember thinking it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be- but funny enough cannot at all recall the scenes you are talking about- Thanks Marijuana!
I saw Sean Baker’s latest movie Red Rocket last night. Seeing as I love Sean Baker movies it’s not surprising I loved this as well. I think Florida Project was a notch better in terms of overall story and having a

protagonist that I was rooting for
but Red Rocket is still captivating in its own weird way.
I love how Sean Baker uses people in the community that he is filming in to play major parts in his films. He always displays such an unvarnished perspective, it’s often strikingly bleak, but also beautiful.
Thankful for A24 and Annapurna pictures for funding films like this.
