All that's left is for a Marchment-Bennett-Lomberg line to score the cup clinching goal. Too bad they don't have Stralman anymore.

Brodie. Giordano. Monahan allowed to lose all value. Bennett, history will prove imo, lost for nothing. Hamonic huge price paid dissipated to zero
Gaudreau will be the ultimate cherry on top
Story not over yet
Did you read what I wrote about Monahan and Bennett? Like.... any of it?
I thought I explained my view on management ####ing those two assets up pretty well but maybe not
Monahan was a mirage. From the minute they hitched his star to Johnny.
Cheechoo. Brown. Neal. Monahan. Same pile of parasites

Do you think you know anything about the five-year outlook?

On the radio this morning, Elliotte Friedman talked about how the Panthers should go all in this year, which meant getting the best available defenceman, either with term (Chychrun) or a rental (Giordano).
Gio to the Panthers to try and get the Cup with Sam? Sign me up.

I had heard from a source within (who has given me factual information before) prior to this season starting, that Treliving has lined up 3 separate trades over the last year to ship Monahan out and that ownership vetoed it every time.

Monahan was a good prospect but he got lazy and stopped developing. Johnny was creating all the offense for him so it's game over for him now. Too old to start over

All fine and dandy until the Flames play the Panthers in the finals.
Be careful what you wish for.

Ok he lost all his skills due to injuries. Went from 1st line center to a guy that doesn't fit anywhere

Also not 100% valid.
He is greatly improved defensively this season.
And when he's been given time with Coleman, Mangiapane, or Dube he's looked fine in an middle 6 role.
He's just doesn't play well with Lewis or Richardson, which was crazy to start with because his skill set does not fit the 4th line.

Try not arguing on the extremes.
No one said he lost all his skills due to injuries but it's also silly to ignore them as contributing factors including when you look at what those injuries are.

So all the sudden, they stop him from making trades and he just quietly says nothing and continue to let them ruin his reputation?

What's he going to do? Come out in the media and say he tried to trade a player but his bosses wouldn't let him?
His reputation with the team's owners and around the league is what matters the most, and he's protecting that by saying nothing of what is going on behind the scenes.
I'm not sure he cares much that a group of fans on Calgarypuck or Twitter seem to want him fired and think he's done a bad job, while knowing none of the context that ownership or the rest of the league would have.

Yeah injuries were part of it but years of playing with Johnny had a lot to do with it. His role was to find an opening for a shot. Other areas of being a center was never developed properly. It's natural since Johnny is the creator on the line.

I'd find another job of my boss is preventing me from processing. Especially, if I am wealthy.

There are only 32 NHL GM jobs in the world.
Pretty much all of them would require some level of involvement from their boss and the ownership group.
Most NHL owners will want to sign off when you are trading a player who has been a big part of the franchise for almost a decade now.
But yeah he should just quit and leave the organization because Flamesfan05 is unhappy that Sean Monahan hasn't been traded yet, and his bosses wouldn't let him.

The only veto we have heard reported was the owners vetoed a buyout of Neal (thankfully).
IF the owners vetoed three trades that Treliving brought forward, it makes you wonder:
Why would they keep him around if he keeps proposing bad deals?
Or why would he want to stay here if has no latitude?
My guess is that if the owners did veto deals he brought forward, it's because they created future salary obligations for the club. But it just doesn't seem plausible. Treliving would be gone by now if true, one way or the other.
