All In.

It will be a lot easier to suffer a rebuild if we know they had at least one barrels-loaded run at the Cup.

If not that, be ruthless and manage assets so that we never lose them for nothing.

I don’t like the middle of the road options at all.

The one thing we shouldn't do is trade assets for depth players. Any other direction is okay with me.

At this point we should either be big game hunting, or selling our best players at a premium. I don't think this team is a contender quite yet, but it will be tough out in the playoffs. I like how this team stacks up against any team in the west not named Colorado, or Vegas(if Eichel is good to go for the playoffs).

I think that a lot should depend on how the negotiations with Gaudreau and Tkachuk are progressing. Essentially, is this our best chance at contending for a cup in the near future? or would a Flames team in 2-3 years be even better. In my opinion, if the Flames can keep everyone then our best chance is the year when Monahan and Lucic come off the books.

On one hand I think that your right. Tkachuck and Gaudreau are both playing for a big raise/ might not sign with the team again.

On the other hand, the Flames are finally recovering from the being too greedy and trading away too many 1st and 2nd round picks drying up our well of prospects almost completely.

I wouldn't complain if the Flames wanted to make a push. But the 1st and 2nd round pick along with Zary, Pelletier and Coronato should be off the table no matter what.

Dube and Valimaki are the most valuable pieces the Flames should work with.

Trade for Chris Simon , Sean Donavan , and Ville N

Seriously - find gems that play a role and pitch in . Remake the middle 2nd and 3rd lines

sell and tank are not options unless the 18 wheeler goes off a cliff.

middle six winger or 2 as others have stated...we have our depth D in Stone, Valimaki, and worst case Mackey.

Treliving needs to be a buyer to shore up that vacant top 9 winger spot.

Denis Gurianov would be ideal if Treliving could swing it and Dallas was willing to deal him.

Joonas Donskoi could probably be had for a reasonable price

All in baby. Get the best RW they can get. Just don't trade 2023 picks

I say go for it. Nothing would be more satisfying than watching this team go on a run. Good chance we'll meet the Oilers or Kings in the first round.

I would like to see the Flames add a top 6 RW or two. I could only imagine what this team could do if they added Toffoli and Connor Brown to their lineup. With some retention and the likes of Zadorov, Dube and Pitlick going the other way with futures, I think the cap would work.

Johny - Lindholm - Tkatchuk
Mangi - Monahan - Toffoli
Coleman - Backlund - Brown
Lucic - Richardson - Lewis

I feel like that balances all top 9 forward spots and gives us the depth to go on a run. It's fun to dream

They already outplay the other team nearly every game as is...get a couple more scorers

Unless they totally blow it in Feb/March they are in a divisional playoff spot, maybe even the top one.

Interestingly though...you likely get a better playoff matchup in the 2/3 spot

I appreciated the Columbus comparable that was posted in another thread. They went all in at the deadline and then lost their core that following off-season. Like how can we add without 13/19 not under contract. Sorry but this team is horrible this year without them. Do you make that judgement call if your management and gamble on potential "What ifs"? Brad's inability to address this issue in the off-season has legitimately handcuffed this team in potentially gearing up for a run, this year and next.

Does anyone have a list of possible "trade bait" from other teams?

Toffoli, Kessel? Domi?

This is my thought as well. If there is another comparable guy we could add to the top 6 then that works as well.

I don't like moving 1sts for rentals...even if this might be an "all in" season.

Really I actually don't see a scenario where Hertl, Pavelski, or the other top rentals would come here anyways (limited NTC, in conference / in division).

Maybe they could look at somebody like Giroux, but I'm still not sure he actually gets moved, and if he does I think Colorado will be his preference.

For me one of Toffoli, Connor Brown, Debrusk, Domi, or Donskoi feel like the most likely targets.

I'd probably give up a 1st for Toffoli since he'd be a perfect fit and has term left, but for the other three guys I'm not sure how willing I'd be to move a 1st.

For this year? Add. Spend the 1st. It’s going to be late anyway. Darryl’s here, he has a shelf life.

Gaudreau is likely to leave. When he does, blow it up.

No franchise player makes Tkachuk, Lindholm and Mangiapane the best offensive players on the team.

That’s not good enough.

With an old building and no fans/reduced capacity, it’s the perfect time to cut costs and start fresh.

Give us a show this spring.

DeBrusk, Kessel, Strome, Domi, Lehkonen, Jarnkrok, Miller, and maybe Giroux?

Lots of D-men. Some UFA's and/or Names thrown out seem to be Chychrun, Chairot, de Haan, Giordano, Petry, Ristolainen, Kulak, Subban.
