People keep forgetting that about Tkachuk. He’s a 1.5 year rental you have to pay $9M next year. Unless you are the team he wants to extend with.

Darryl's gon' coach em up, and we're gon' get us an ocean liner.
#### you, Vegas. You can't have him. Not on my watch. Not today.
|
There is no chance if we acquired Eichel that all 3 of our current top line would not have been in the trade. Considering Johnny had trade clause it would have had to been one of lindholm or Tkachuk . Most trade proposals on co had Monahan going the other way. Lol . Flames prospects are at best on par as the prospect that Buffalo got . After our top line there is no one on the roster that would have been as good as tuch and his contract .

The Flames could have beat that offer, or at least drive the price up exponentially. Letting Vegas got him for so little is a joke.

Quantity doesn't beat quality.
So far what they got is looking really good.
I think fans don't know the players well.

It is kind of sad that after 8 years of running the team, he couldn't find some combination of assets to get in the conversation against a team that didn't even exist until 2017
That's the indictment. Not that Buffalo wanted Krebs and Tuch

That's BT's fault for building an asset poor organization is what I'm taking from your post

What does it matter,2021, 2017 or 1972?
Vegas had the assets that Buffalo preferred.

I think Corranto+Pelletier+Valimaki+2 unprotected 1sts would've done it just my opinion
Give them Monahan for cap purposes
I wouldn't have done it if I was BT. But still his fault for not assembling better assets over the last 8 years

That's why it's sad. Get it? 4 year head start and still couldn't beat it or even get in the conversation
Finishing lower in the standings each year except one to boot

So three firsts plus two unprotected firsts but I wouldn’t have done it?
Oh and Monahan as well? You can’t be serious?
Am I reading that right?

Everybody and his dog knows that Vegas took advantage of many brutally managed teams, not Including Calgary, in the expansion draft.

Wasn’t Buffalo looking for a top 6 player that could play now and a prospect that would be full time next season? I think your proposal skips all that. Also why does Buffalo accept monahan? Just to buy him out after the season ? He’s certainly not top 6 , even on an awe full sabres team.

Don’t forget being able to pilfer second liners from pretty much across the league!

Was gonna say, Treliving for better or worse took over a team building almost from scratch, Vegas got a team with a bunch of decent players, including MAF.

After 4 years of building BT shouldn't have been able to assemble a comparable team... is that what you are saying?
Face it. If BT was the GM of Vegas, they'd be Seattle

Betting indefinite 1sts on an artificial disk is asinine. I was in favour of offering tons of conditional picks (relative to Eichel's health/play), but there is no way to know what BUF would have preferred.

Even Lindholm wouldn't fit this criteria with only 2 full years left compared to Tuch's 4.
Andersson has the same 4 year term and would have fit a need for BUF, but beauty is in the eye of the beholder and who knows if BUF would have valued him similarly. He's our #1 D in TOI by about 90 seconds right now with hardly any other plausible RHD in the long-term depth chart beyond Tanev...
To the spend anything folks, would you have done:
Andersson + Pelletier + Dubé + Zary + Coronato + 1st (top 10 protected for 1 year*) + 2nd*
* same conditions as VGK had on the trade
Because for all we know BUF thought Tuch is worth at least Andersson+Pelletier and Krebs is worth Zary+Dubé+Coronato.
