Yeah Ross is the only one here in trouble. With how heavily the NFL has (and will continue to) lean into gambling you can't be having an owner who is essentially trying to engage in match fixing. We all know and have known the Rooney Rule is tokenism, but even this doesn't prove anything that can't be denied or explained away.

Not sure what Flores plan is?
He's basically burning the boats to any future NFL job...also, it's hard to say there's discrimination when he was actually hired as an NFL head coach...no doubt the Giants had a guy in their minds already and the interview was just for show, but its a tough thing to prove its the NFL versus an organization
As for Brady, I've been a Michigan fan forever, so I remember him in college, and thought he was a great college QB, but really didn't expect him to have a much better career than Brian Griese. Good player, great game manager, but not particularly good, or bad, at anything (well maybe running). I did think 6th round was a steal for the Patriots, but I had figured 3rd round was as high as he deserved to go.
Love or hate him, its been pretty amazing to watch him evolve from a guy that was a game manager, getting 200-250 yards a game, to a guy that lead the league in passing yards and touchdowns...at 44 years of age!
Its a sad day, but cool to see him go out as a great player like Barry Sanders and Jim Brown did.

If the NFL's defense is going to be the equivalent of "I'm not racist because I have a black friend," they're probably in for a world of hurt.

Elway drunk and/or hung over? That's no secret.
The biggest revelation here is the Ross accusation. Which doesn't seem to have much to do with the point of the lawsuit.
I had thought the Texans were ready to hire Flores but obviously was wrong. I fundamentally agree with every point he is making, I just don't know if this works out for him.

I think the other piece of data Flores' team could use is a comparison of the number of managers, coaches, etc., in the NFL vs. the MLB and NBA.

I also love that this is going to be the main talking point as the NFL tries to promote the Super Bowl. As much as I love the product, the NFL as an organization deserves the embarrassment.

They hired one of the most sought after coaches. Just because you you did t get the job or they already had someone in mind when they interviews you doesn’t make it racism.
I don’t think this is going to get the play you think it is.

Sounds like Harbaugh to the Vikings is all but done. Seems like a strange pairing, Vikes are close to needing a total rebuild and Cousins is Cousins. But he's the best coaching candidate by a wide margin based off previous NFL track record, so we'll see if he can replicate that 49ers run.

What other teams were calling him? Rumors that he and Davis talked but he wanted too much personnel control and Davis wanted to go back to a more traditional GM/head coach after the Gruden mess. If Cousins can't win with Harbaugh it will be an easy decision to move on from him the next season.

Yeah Flores just firing everything in the chamber, and, not wasting much time after the Giants hiring.
Really hard to prove that Ross said that/meant that literally.
Outrage about a token Rooney rule interview?
My guess is Elway showed up for most interviews of guys he wasn’t hiring, like that.
The Belichek thing is the oddest part of it is. After the first response you figure he’d check to make sure he is talking to correct Brian.

Harbaugh wants full control. That’s why the 49ers forced him out (and all their players levelled down immediately, see Kapernick, Colin and Smith, Aldon).
Didn’t the Vikes just hire a GM?

Show us you didn't read the lawsuit without telling us you didn't read the lawsuit. The point of Flores' lawsuit is that the Rooney Rule doesn't actually address the NFL's lack of diversity. It's just a checkbox. And he's right.
When guys like Adam Gase get multiple head coaching jobs despite never displaying any level of competence but guys like Lovie Smith, Jim Caldwell, and Flores who actually did admirable jobs in their positions lose their jobs and don't get another crack, something is definitely up.
NFL players make up 70% of the player pool but only 3% of active head coaches. Are we really to believe that disparity is solely based on competency?

This will never get to trial though, the NFL and co. will try and get this dismissed, and when/if that fails they'll settle. No way do they want this going to discovery.

The NFL can present a black coach who held on to his job way longer than he should have, the great Hue Jackson. not sure how he kept his job that long

Maybe Bill thinks black coaches have been given a raw deal, and he decided to help his guy the best way he knew how.

Is it just me or does anyone else think it’s pretty brutal Brady didn’t even mention the Patriots?
Looks crazy bad on him in my mind. But I’m not a massive fan so maybe missing something key.

They essentially gave the guy the job before they even interviewed the minority candidate. That's awful

Not to mention it looks like they were stringing Flores along just so they could tick off the Rooney Rule box before announcing the Dabol hire.
