Yeah, that’s true. Would be nice to see some variation.

.
Also felt like Tkachuk some responsible for initiating some of that contact.

I think if the flames got one goal in regulation they would have settled down and scored 3 or 4 more. It's hard to play in those games where you know you should be winning and it's tied, you start to get worried about making one mistake and it ending up in your net.

These are the types of games the Flames would lose before Sutter came back. I think he has their heads screwed on right.

Tkachuk tried to sell that. With how he plays you won't frequently get the benefit of the doubt. Its a trade off.

Demko's lateral movement is as quick as I've ever seen in a goalie. On several of those shots, Demko wasn't even facing the shooter when he committed to the shot, but by the time the puck reached the crease, the goalie was square to the shooter and the puck was right on his crest.

It looks like an easy save, but it's not.

Looking back, I think the Flames played about as good a possession game as their blowout wins, but the Canucks got better goaltending and clogged up the cross ice passes better. The blowouts - Johnny et all had a whole lot of space to make passes. Last night they tried and nothing got through.

The Flames were system tight but not sharp with pucks. Passes off sticks, delays that resulted in turnovers, pucks into shin pads.

They owned the game, but the offensive side of their game never showed up.

If true this is terrifying.

They have one of the busiest schedules the rest of the way.

People aren't giving Demko enough credit, it happens

Almost all of it at home (no travel) and the vast majority with days off between games.

That was a tired team last night and for good reason.

5 games in 8 nights is extremely rare in the NHL.

They have to do it 3 more times this season.

I remain concerned.

It is? I looked back at the 2019/20 season and it happened to the Flames about 5 times before play was suspended.

How do you get better goaltending then a shutout. Maybe their goalie made exceptional saves but he didnt get a shutout.

Better goaltending than the teams Calgary blew out.

With a few more shots into the pads or places other than the jersey logo might give some rebounds and more HDSC. Felt like Vancouver spent most of the penalty kill giving up the entry and outside of the zone to protect the middle hoping Demko gets the outside shots and Calgary didn’t really seem to try to get anything in the middle. It was all to the point for a short or a cross ice pass for a one timer. That can work against teams that are sitting in the outside but I’m not sure it’s a sustainable strategy if Calgary gets more aggressive with seeking space in the middle and forces them to open up.
The Canucks did a really good job blocking lanes and forcing shots right into Demko. It was frustrating to watch, but I think the Canucks deserve credit for playing a great defensive game.
