Oh I hope we land Pavelski, Girioux or Miller. Give me a legit top line scoring center for a playoff run.

The only issue I have with going after Eberle is the two additional years after this one at a $5.5 million cap hit. It's not a terrible contract, but does handcuff us a little bit for re-signing the four players mentioned. Unless management knows for sure that Gaudreau isn't going to stay, then I guess that opens up a lot of cap space, although I would prefer to see them use the money elsewhere if that does happen.

Whom will play on the second line because we aren't going to split up one of the best lines in hockey.

I'm thinking this will be another trade deadline where we are all again disappointed. I hope they use Gaudreau's cap hit wisely next year when he's gone.

Pavelski or Hertl would be my top two choices…I suppose Miller would also be pretty rad.

I was just trying to be more realistic I guess.
I don't see guys like Pavelski, Hertl, Giroux OK'ing a trade to Calgary, and I don't see the canucks trading Miller to the Flames.

Move him for what? Value is tanked now even with this Hart season. Either get an Iginla-like return or go all in. Obvious choice.
Gonna suck to lose him for nothing

How many of these guys can even nix a trade to Calgary, and if they're coming from a non-playoff team, why would they?

All three guys mentioned can nix a trade to Calgary. And for Pavelski and Giroux anyway, they’ve seen so many POs that I doubt it’s that big a deal to miss one, especially if they see Calgary as a PO team but not a cup contender. They’d be more about lifestyle.

Wow you must know them personally to know their individual preferences and priorities.
Why would a competitive guy on the way out of the league want to go to a team with a 2x champ coach that will need and use them and where they can be a key to going on a run.... when he can take in that nice spring weather on the greens in Texas.
Beats me.

No sorries needed Sandman!
What you think about you bring about though so let’s think good thoughts about Johnny!! I think he stays but if he decides to test UFA I can’t blame him and I’m a fan for life regardless. All that said though I’m still confident he signs and for a long term.

COVID restrictions for one.
It's been reported that many players currently playing in the states have no interest in coming to Canada for just that reason.
