I also don't believe Vladar deserved Sutter comments yesterday. Vladar really wasn't the issue in his losses. So the matter of fact and dry response of "well he hasn't won a game in a month" was a bit harsh even for a dry measured response.
Maybe there's a disconnect between player and team?
I dont know. I really really like Vladar. He's been as solid as one could ask of a back up behind a pure #1.

If we are trading them Vladar they best be paying through the teeth.
On the other hand, giving Wolf a ramp to the NHL pre playoffs is a dream scenario for me. No disrespect to Darth Vlad, who I think has been rather good as a backup, but Wolf is our future.

If they were to give up Puljujarvi it would make it worth it for Calgary. Adding a right shot winger that pushes Lucic down the the 4th line would be ideal. There is definitely upside there and Holland could just be desperate enough
Oilers just added a top 6 forward in Kane and seem to be up against it when it comes to finding a new goalie.

I'd be ecstatic to get Jesse for Vladar, just don't think that's a realistic expectation :P. If it is, I'm laughing all the way to the bank. I also don't see how they could be motivated to give up a prospect like Holloway when they are going to absolutely need the entry level contracts not to exceed the cap over the next few seasons.
huh, maybe we could score Jesse for something like this... still seems like a hilarious overpayment, especially to your most hated rival. Holland isn't that stupid is he? If I were in his shoes I would rather dangle a 1st to someone else for better help than Vladar. The 1st could be a lottery ticket, but it's more palatable than handing a former top 5 pick to us right?

Probably not and the tweet is more likely nothing but I see no reason for the Flames to make the deal for anything less than an overpayment. Vlader is a cheap backup so unless something happened and Sutter wants him gone I feel like the Oil would need to pay up.
I also feel like if they shopped Puljujarvi for a goalie around the league they would get someone better than Vlader.
Ultimately I think it is nothing at the end of the day
I can’t see it unless the Oil were overpaying. So would Puljujarvi for Vlader work hypothetically?
Can't see the Tweet. What was the actual source? Not an actual rumour, but just someone spitballing?
I think JP, with his below average hockey IQ, would get eaten alive by Sutter and aside from the untouchables in Edmonton, no one else from their roster is remotely interesting.
In theory, I would be for trading Vladar if the return was high. We have a glut of goalies right now. Vladar deserves to play more. Werner probably has some NHL back-up potential still. Wolf is going to need to move up probably next year. Chechelev is still an intriguing prospect, but a work in progress. He could probably use more work. Then there is Sergeev... probably way too good for the USHL and will need to go pro really soon. I assume Parsons is all but done now.

I think Vladar is one of only a small handful that they could afford to take on.
I wouldn't dismiss it because I think Wolf is well on his way but yeah, if we help their goaltending then they get to help our scoring and pony up a good future as interdivisional tax.
Listening to Marek/Friedman talk about the Flyers press conference “blank cheque” comment…Tree, get Johnny signed. Do it yesterday.
I agree that we need to him signed ASAP.
I don't understand why Johnny would sign there unless he doesn't care about winning though. Philly is a trainwreck, and they don't have much in the pipeline that would suggest they'll be significantly better within the next 5 years.
If he wants to be closer to home, he could be anywhere in Boswash.

It is oilers nation which is a swear filter here.
It says they hear the Oilers are finally closing in on a goaltender and then there is a Darth Vader gif which is why people speculate Vlader
Don't see the oilers acquiring Vladar from us. It would have to be an overpay, since calgary and the oilers might be fighting for playoff spots. With the price they would have to pay, I'm sure they could get someone more proven, which they really need. Skinner is already pretty similar to vladar.
