If the Republicans gain both the senate & the house in the midterms, Biden will have a tough time pushing through a liberal judge, and the court needs one. Already lopsided.

Shouldn't be an issue. Democrats have almost a full year to confirm his replacement.

Are we talking about justices or other stuff? Of course individual senators have things they’d like and will try to use their leverage to get it but it really is two that are currently holding the majority of actions hostage.
Yes everyone sucks but two of them suck extra hard in relation to everyone else.

that whole Supreme Court system is broken AF. It obviously needed to happen with Breyer and Dems learned this the hard way, but the sheer fact that you basically have to pressure a judge into retirement when the timing is convenient is just crazy. Then again, lifetime appointments are too.

I said something similar a year ago and was roasted for it, but the U.S. is on the verge of ruin. Everything is broken. I watched CNN last night about them losing their democracy. The GOP is trying to get many Republicans into office in a bid to steal elections. It’s ironic they’re doing exactly what they’ve wrongly accused the other side of doing. It’s frightening that this is happening to our next-door neighbour.

bipartisanship was always the wrong horse to bet on. Republicans are way better organised when it comes to these things, and them breaking the party line for important issues was never a realistic scenario. Failing to bring Sinema and Manchin into line is the real issue. If you have a 50/50 senate with the VP as the tie breaker, you really don't need to reach across the aisle, you just have to make sure your own people are in lockstep. Republicans seem to never have an issue with this like the Democrats do with Sinema and Manchin.

You get that this is because their point of view (which personally I find repugnant) is incredibly popular with vast amounts of Americans, I mean I doubt any of these ######s personally cares about any of these positions but they know what gets them elected .

Do we forget John McCain's big thumbs down that killed the Obamacare repeal a few years back?
Republicans had control of everything for 4 years and barely got anything through as well. Just hard to push anything through with the filibuster in place.
