Faulk's comments about Canada might reflect opinions of many other players which is a bad sign for Canadian teams trying to acquire before the deadline.
Cgy, Fla, StL looking at Chariot
If Flyers were willing to take a late round draft pick for Jones, he would be an Edmonton Oiler
Oilers might be interested in Kevin Stenlund
LA and NYR are out on Chychrun for now.
FLA is there on Chychrun but won't give up Lundell
Ana, Bos, Car have been there. Col might be stealthily involved
Giroux makes sense for the Avs but fitting him in the cap is an issue
Coyotes have indicated they want to keep Crouse
Caps looking at MAF
Might be time for Zadina to get a fresh start

LoL Oilers thinking someone is going to solve their goalie woes by trading one to them for a late pick.
Stupid oilers.

Something around Valimaki for Zadina is something I've thought could help both teams.
Detroit has Seider on D, and they have Edvinsson coming, but they don't have much else in the pipeline.
Zadina hasn't been great in Detroit but can play RW (even though he's a LH shot) and could help the middle 6 here in Calgary.
Zadina is probably the opposite of a Sutter player though, and really has not been good in Detroit.
But you never know what a change of scenery could do, and really he was probably a bit rushed to the NHL by Detroit with high expectations.

I think there's merit to that, but you really need to make sure you've got a strong sense of Zadina and why he hasn't excelled.
His weapon should be his shot, which was considered elite as a prospect. So is he simply not getting the chances, or is that shot not as good as projected?
On paper, there could be a fit there. But it could easily work out to be the deal where it's the Flames trading Rasmus Andersson in exchange for Sven.

Tone deaf comments about liking where the US is right now in regards to handling covid compared to Canada. Meanwhile: COVID deaths per 100,000 people: USA 264.59 vs CAN 85.99.

People like him don't care about normie death rates. It's about clubs and restaurants.

For the price one would pay for Zadina, I think you could get Gurianov out of Dallas. Same profile and a better player now and probably in the future.
That being said, the right move is getting the best possible offensive threat either center or right wing to play on line 2 so that the top line can take a night off occasionally and not cause the team to lose. This isn’t the time for maybes/has beens/could bes.

I can't find the article bow, but a beat writer for Detroit commented extensively on the zadina issue. Their belief was that he was not being used properly. The wings coach wants one forward on each line to work the boards and retrieve pucks, and on suter's line that's zadina.
The Detroit guy also thought that he should be traded, as player and coach were clearly not on the same page concerning development.

Why are we looking at Chariot I wouldn't trade a first for him. Why's nobody complaining about that.

The Flames already have a better version of Chiarot in Zadorov.

The flames would already have JT Miller if the Canucks would accept a 6th rounder and future considerations.

Future buyout Justin Faulk? You don't say. At the end of the day what some random American playing for st louis thinks about coming to Canada is pretty irrelevant.

I think this team’s blueline is set outside of a left field trade for Chychrun. Zadorov is looking really solid and the top 4 is set. Valimaki and Stone for depth.
Top 6 forward right shot winger or a legit top 6 center would be the most pressing need.

It's the annual flames drive to add depth D for those super deep playoff runs they go on.

I know this one is likely a long shot but would Philly consider moving Konecny?
Might be more of a summer move but he has had 2 so-so seasons after a near ppg run before the bubble.
Ultimately I am looking at some top 6 forwards the flames could get for Dube+picks. I don’t want to necessarily move Dube but I think he could be near the point where a change of scenery could be in the cards. I am likely jumping the gun there but I could see Dube being a piece the Flames dangle for an upgrade.
Dube+Pitlick+2 2nds for Konecny? Complicates the cap situation
Blockbuster
Dube+Monahan+Pitlick+1st+2nd for Konecny+Giroux
Flames likely need to add more but that would add a lot to this team

Oster is Chariot's agent, same as Tkachuk (both of them) Stone (both of them) Karlsson, among others. Ruzicka and Kirkland as well on the Flames.
Always interesting to see which agents are chatting with insiders, or, vice versa, to try and get interest in their clients via the media.
