Refs scored that goal.

Tanev let a guy walk around him because his teammate probably has him?

Sounds Oileresque

I don't know how you could weed out any kind of positive Flames narrative in what they said at all. Or much at all to do with the Flames for that matter.

You wouldn't know who scored for the Flames if you watched just the third period. They didn't talk about their tallies one bit, or who was contributing on the Flames side. I think just one obligatory Gaudreau mention.

But Bouch Bomb Bouchard was a big talking point. They were really trying to will that hat trick for him.

I don't know why Hrudey betrays us in these BoA broadcasts like that. Its really sad coming from a usually solid guy like him.

Oilers do good they milk them. Oilers stink they all feel sorry for them and root them on regardless.

No love for the Calgary viewers I guess.
Yeah it's honestly baffling listening to a HNIC broadcast for a Battle of Alberta game. Singh is an admitted Oilers fan, DeBrusk is a former Oiler and works on their regional broadcast so it's bad enough. But the intermissions are always nothing but Oilers talk through and through (even if they're struggling or playing badly).

It’s not that Tanev let’s Draisaitl walk around him, sometimes you just get beat.

But if Kylington isn’t interferes with then the flames have support and back pressure coming up the middle of the ice, so Drai can’t just cut right across the middle like that, and Tanev getting beat there doesn’t look as bad .

Tanev getting beat there suddenly is 100x worse than it should be because there is no support coming up the middle from his partner.

Still a bad play by Tanev but maybe not a goal against if Kylington is there to not let Draisaitl walk right across the crease

Ironically, he actually had a strong game today. But that post he hit needs to be post and in. Good effort and chances only takes this team so far, execution wins you hockey games and the Oilers executed on the few chances they had. This team has had waaaaay too many losses this season with 40+ shots.

I guess i look at it from the entirely opposite direction. The interference is irrelevant if you don’t get beat so cleanly like that. Draisatl was 100% past Tanev and he was chasing him. Yeah sometimes you get beat but you can’t get beat like that. That’s a prime scoring chance even if Kylington can support.

I’ll have to look at the interference again but did Kylington have to go down like a sack of flour at that point or could he have fought though it?

Yeah, when Tanev gets walked like an AHL’er on the game winning goal, I’m not sure I agree with criticizing Kylington.
I assume he was referring to Kylington's failure at the offensive blueline to get the puck deep on that play ten seconds prior. His pass was picked off which started the Draisaitl rush in the first place.

not sure I agree with Sutter but that's my take on his take

Yeah for sure.

Flames fans should be proud of the Flames overall body of work lol

They're a juggernaut. They never let the fans down, it's the fans that are the clearly the problem.

When they were up 2-0 I was unfortunately expecting them to blow it. Ugh.

He also was far too passive on the zone entry and gap control to allow the skater to the top of the circle on the Perlini goal. He had other Flames support too if you watch replay, so that was the only man he needed to worry about.

He might have not played it perfect but that goal was not his fault.

I think it’s because the Oilers are the LA Lakers with LeBron James and the Flames are not.

From now on any BOA with anyone other than Rick Ball will be on mute and no way will I watch any pre, during or post game coverage. SN is a a stinking pile of trash.

Absolutely pathetic how the Flames allowed Koskinen to channel his inner Hasek. Holding into pucks way too long when shooting. Over passing on direct shooting lanes. Fumbling and bobbing pucks all night to a depleted and shaken Oilers team that was ripe for the stomping.

Disgraceful loss. Worst loss of the season . Says a lot about who the Flames truly are.

Wow there is a lot of complaining in here. Are you guys new fans or something? Honestly, I don't know what people expect from this team. It's still early so I guess we're at the end of January which is "this team was a contender earlier and they're still the same team!" Then February is "we're still in control of our destiny" month, March is "we just need a little help from other teams" month, and then April is "playing for pride" month.

Flames had the Oilers right where they wanted them. Down 2-0 looking lost then Kylington takes an unnecessary, obvious, weak but obvious cross checking penalty and gives the Oilers exactly what they needed. I turned it off 2 minutes after they made it 2-1 cause I just had this feeling it wasn’t going to end well.
