Great episode last night . . . . . the Tigh/Six slugfest was very well done.
Tigh is always great when he's back on the bottle.
Nice cancer comeback from Roslin on the stand with Lee's face falling down around his ankles.
Tigh as a Cylon? Torrie as a Cylon? . . . . . .
An automated e-mail promo from the Sci-Fi network in the USA tells me I will find out who the final five Cylons are in the shocking season finale next Sunday.
At the Chicago Tribune right now, Kara Thrace has a slim lead on Homer Simpson in a duel to determine "The Best Character On Television." Vote now!! Down to the final eight at this link:
http://redeye.chicagotribune.com/red...294937.special
Tricia Helfer has been signed for the pilot of a new Sci-Fi series due to start shooting in May . . . . apparently she can do double duty:

In the LA Times two weeks ago, speculation on if and when we might see Starbuck again. No spoilers:

I loved the episode last night, mission accomplished for the Baltar defense team as they've done a great job of discrediting the two key witnesses for the prosecution, I really enjoyed both opening arguments.
The key question is does Roslin really have cancer? Or is she a zealot who's hoping for additional visions to guide them to Earth?
I had a thought on the tracking thing that the Cylon's were doing, they have a number 6 on board, wouldn't she be wired into thier network constently so she can be downloaded at a moments notice. I mean come on we're not on dial up here, why aren't they tracking her.
I'd laugh if the mysterious Cylon was the guy thats moping the floor in the background.
Overall a nice ramp up, and we're still waiting for the glove dosen't fit moment in the trial.
We know its coming

I think we're going to find Laura was lying about the cancer . . . or was the purpose of the opening scene of her pursuing Hera to indicate Hera's blood might not be available to her down the road.
I think the direct threat to fire Torrie is somehow going to come back on Laura as well . . . . is Laura's past treatment of Cylon's, airlocking them, etc, going to mean she'll be denied the treatment of Hera's blood at some point.
Michael Hogan as Colonel Tigh deserves an Emmy for this season . . . . crusty, conflicted, alcoholic buzzards have never been done better either at the start of the season or now, at the end. His destruction on the stand, ending with a cry about the music in his head, was a classic.

Yeah I loved last nights episode, can't wait for the finale. The music is interesting it seems so obvious that those that heard it would be the final 5 though. As well, characters like Tigh and Tyrol were unaffected by that cylon virus when they probably should've been if they are indeed part of the final 5.
Guaranteed Baltar does not get convicted. No idea what I'm basing that on, but it seems like that's the direction they're going especially with Lee defending him.
Still think Starbuck may make an appearance in the last moments of the finale to deliver one of many cliffhangers. No way she is gone for good.

If baltar gets convicted, it means he's dead, and there goes one of the most interesting characters on the show, and there goes our link with the cylons basically, so it seems to me like he'll walk in one way or another.

Here's a piece of Michael Hogan trivia that may or may not have been noted already - he used to act in the occasional Theatre Calgary piece.

it's already been pointed out in the show that if the cylons get too far away from the resurrection ship, the link is broken. also don't forget that Athena is also a cylon, so if they were able to track the 6 then they would have been able to track the fleet long before she came on board

I remember that, but the Cylon fleet was a mere 1 jump or 6 hours behind the fleet, and they have the ability to resurect on the base ships as we saw with Boomer, and if its a technology the Cylon's are in constant contact with thier ability to resurect.

Wasn't Gaeda in the room when they put the gun to Baltar's head to make him sign? Surely Gaeda know's Baltar was forced... Am I the only one who feels bad for Baltar... It's not like he had much of a choice.
Obviously ignoring the fact he gave six a nuke..

Baltar is my favourite character, and I too hope he's acquitted.
I was telling my wife when we watched the most recent episode that Balar's defense should do two things: the first, as you noted, would be to have Gaeta testify that Gaius signed the death warrant under duress and that the cylons threatened to kill even more colonists if he didn't sign it.
The second would be to call Chief Tyrol to the stand and have him testify about Col. Tigh's actions when Galactica was hit by a nuclear warhead during the initial Cylon attack. For those who don't remember, Tigh ordered Tyrol to vent certain sections of the ship into space to put out fires, even though there were still damage control teams there. Essentially, Tigh ordered the death of those men because it was necessary to save the lives of everyone else on the ship. How is that any different from what Baltar did on New Caprica?

Remember what Tigh said. If they're wearing thier environmental suits, and they remember thier training, they have a chance to survive. Plus Tigh wasn't colluding with the fire, he was trying to put it out.
Baltar signed execution orders, its a big difference, even under duress with a gun to his head, he wasn't thinking of the survival of the human race, he was thinking of his own.

Taken from another thread. Didn't Anders also hear the "music"? He
was telling Tigh, "You almost got it, very close!" as Tigh was trying to
tune the radio.
If it's something important, Anders is on it too.

. . . . . and Torrie as well I believe.
Her reaction was interesting actually because there really wasn't an indication she was actually hearing anything, only that's she's freaking out a bit and was standing by the radio when giving Anders a lacivious look.

Sci Fi channel is set to announce that Season 4 of Battlestar will be upped from 13 episodes to 22, says TVWeek.com.
http://www.tvweek.com/news.cms?newsId=11755
Ain't It Cool News.com says the direct-to-DVD movie will come in the fourth quarter and will deal with the Pegasus and how it faired when the second Cylon war started.

A lengthy Ron Moore interview at Salon.com, talking about a variety of issues, including stand-alone episodes, serials on TV, ratings, season 4 and some on the season finale . . . . . I don't recall anything particularly spoilerish.
He does confirm the Fall movie will center around the Pegasus storyline.

Interesting that Ron Moore is saying in the article that he doesn't know if they can top the Season Two finale of BSG. It kind of echos a sentiment I've been feeling as I've been watching the third season, that I'm excited for the season finale but not in the same way I was for the Season Two one. It is also interesting that he states that they are now moving into the "third act of a three act story". Seems that the show is heading towards its climax, whatever that may be.
