Eklund nailed the flames signing Gaudreau to his rookie contract IIRC. Not worth much, but when connected to philly area players or rumors to do with philadelphia he does gain a slight bit more credibility.

This would be extremely welcome news. Why not experience a bit of joy in your life and choose to believe it?

"JG could sign in Calgary" great, he "could" sign anywhere
"Signing in Calgary is a growing possibility" okay, did it go from a 1% to a 2% chance? from 80% to 90%, who knows, it's just fluff to generate conversation on a topic outside of Calgary.
I still think JG goes to free agency just to see what the other offers are, this is his one chance in his career to cash in and choose what he wants, looks like he will be the best available forward this off season. His agent should and will be telling him the same, this is a business to these players, they do not have the same loyalty as fans, nor should they.

John Gaudreau's father Guy is skills coach of the youth tier 1 AAA hockey tea, Flyers Elite, which is operated by the Flyers organization I think

He has connections to the Flyers and the Philly hockey community (which Gaudreau's dad is heavily involved in too).

Probably nothing but as Monahammer said IIRC he was one of the first to say that Gaudreau would be signing at the conclusion of his college season and coming to Calgary for a game.

I like all off them, I think Hagel would be a great top 9 forward, cheap contract. It would be interesting to see the cost for these players.

Seems like this year there are more teams selling then buying earlier in the year. The east is already settled with the playoff positioning.

Edmonton making some roster moves today, I wonder if a trade for Valarmov or Grubauer is in the works as they both have bigger contracts or maybe Fleury. I really they overpay as nothing would be greater to see.

NYI wouldn’t trade Varlamov and I don’t know why Seattle would do a deal outside of a huge haul that Edmonton doesn’t have.
