The Flames played their own game this time and squeezed the life out of the mighty Panthers, who have scored like 180 goals in the last 3 games. Haha! Man are the Oilers ever stupid!

That game was a lot of fun. Just what the team and the fans needed. Top line dominated.

Really happy for Monahan, who we are all hoping can get back to a high level.

Also glad to see Coleman score again. He has 4 points in his last five games and that line with Mangiapane and Backlund looked solid.

Lastly, Markstrom gave them a good game tonight. I'm really encouraged by this performance.

Meaningless quibble: ‘Dominate’ (with a capital D) is occasionally used as a noun by historians of ancient Rome. Some call the late Roman Empire the ‘Dominate’, because the emperor was an absolute ruler (dominus), as opposed to the early empire or ‘Principate’, when the emperor was theoretically no more than the first member of the Senate (princeps).

Now, if this were a game between the Ottawa Senators and the Atlanta Gladiators (both fine ECHL teams), maybe one could speak of a ‘Dominate’ performance. Like, it reminds one of the late Roman Empire because one of the teams is declining and falling? But not otherwise, and not tonight.

Unless, I suppose, there's a record of ancient Romans setting a panther on fire in the arena. That might be a ‘Dominate’ thing to do.

Just recently, Sutter made the comment that Gaudreau was one of the best two-way wingers in the game. His +20 is better than everyone else in the top-50 scorers, except Rantanen (+21), and Ekblad (+27). He's tied for 9th in the NHL in that stat.

I know, +/- is meaningless.
