they took turns being awful, pretty much impossible to get a read on how Emma's next match will go. let Sloan go on her honeymoon already.

Also, we will be getting a Kyrgios vs. Medvedev match in round 2 which I fully expect to have its fair share of theatrics, but also a Medvedev win in straight sets.

Good Felix is going to need to come back to the fold as bad Felix is not going to get it done against ADF, or anyone else he might face in this event from here on.

After breaking Ruusuvuori in the 5th set, he was down love-40 trying to consolidate and reached down deep and got the job done. The mental toughness is really coming to the fore and aside from Medvedev (and likely Djokovic whom he doesn't have to worry about any longer for this tourney), I'm starting to think he believes he can beat anybody on tour.
/Now watch him lose to ADF lol

Shapo's match is coming up shortly.
Edit: Denis breaks to start the match.

Another break for Denis - Really hitting the ball clean through these first five games.

Nice jinx by me as Kwon breaks back.
Edit: Shapo was up a double break at 1-4, now it's 5-5

BG was talking about how Shapo has no variety on court, it's just hit the ball 100MPH every shot with very little margin for error. Needs to find some variety if he wants to make the next leap.

Far be it from me to question BG, but in my opinion he is trying to mix things up. Kwon just started red-lining and decided not to miss late in set 2 and takes the second set in a tie-break.

Kwon is doing his best Ruusuvuori imitation tonight.

That was a bad miss by Shapo on break point. All he had to do was basically put it in the court and he had the game.

Meanwhile, Kecmanovic is taking full advantage of the Djokovic deportation as he is through to round 3 after eliminating Tommy Paul.

Just tuning in after the Flames game. Seems that Kwon is playing Shapo tough!

He sure is, it's been a high quality match from both guys in all honesty, although Kwon certainly picked up his level late in set 2.

Oh man, that break came outta nowhere.
Edit: And then he gives the break right back. That was a poor game.
