He's on pace for 30 goals.
Just had to throw that in there because people said they would give it some time this year before admitting that he's actually made something of himself in Florida. I think enough time has passed.

2 goals and an assist on the night.

Back to back goals 3 minutes apart. Up to 3 points tonight and 20 points in 28 games on the season.
Could've been the secondary scoring the Flames desperately need

If I were to go back to opening day of the 2020/2021 season, I’d be hard pressed to predict a worse 12 months for Brad Treliving than what has actually transpired.
I hope Bennett continues to rip it up, and that we as Flames fans finally get to see a GM change.
Sean Monahan: 6 even strength points in 34 games.
Mikael Backlund: 9 even strength points in 34 games.
Sam Bennett: 15 even strength points in 28 games.
Sam Bennett has produced the same amount of even strength points as Monahan and Backlund combined. It took Monahan and Backlund 68 games to score the same amount as Bennett has in 27.5 games. Brilliant.

The second goal was a nice shot. The first assist was a very nice pass. Great to see Sam continuing his success.

Hiring Darryl Sutter makes this a factually incorrect statement. It is literally Brad's good move that offsets a lot of bad moves (not all but a lot).
Don't disagree that the Flames need a new GM though.

Well the Flames could be a bad hockey team. They're not. So it could be a lot worse.

Being an outright bad hockey team would actually be more productive than being an utterly mediocre bubble team yet again.
They are 14th overall in point %.

He’s also a significantly better player than both Backlund and Monahan, so…yeah.

Sooner or later people are going to have to admit that Bennett is also a better player.

maybe but lets be real, if Bennet was on Calgary's fourth line like Monahan he would also have like 6 points
and only even strength points are counted because Monahan is better on the PP

Bennett flourishing when playing with quality line mates. Are you learning anything from this Treliving?? Naaaa. Doubt it.

Sam Bennett was never going to become that player here, for a variety of reasons, including the expansion draft.

Ok just so I have this straight. If the Flames were a really bad hockey team you'd be happier with Treliving this season?

I don't think we had the right personnel, Most likely the Flames at the time didn't know what to do with a player like Sam. At least not until Sutter arrived.
As you said there is a whole variety of reasons beyond.

I mean this is probably true if you look at only his last year in Calgary but they had six years to develop him and did basically nothing right. Instead of playing him in the top six, which by the way doesn't seem to be a problem for maybe the best team in the league, they tried to make him a bottom six winger. Bad coaching.
