If Gaudreau walks at the end of the year where does Treliving rank on the list of worst Flames GM's?

I'm just so tired of this tire spinning.

Couldn’t watch tonight and I’m not interested in watching the lowlights, but I’m very interested in what Sutter is saying at this juncture?

I don't think playing once a week is a good way to get back on track after a LONG layoff

looking forward to the rescheduled games, I want a game every other night. Hopefully games played are close to even by the deadline or that is a real disadvantage

I don't believe Tre and management can build the best team of the league, my hope is other teams become worse than Flames.

To flip the question, who was the last flames GM that you would consider good?

I can't recall.

When Markstrom looked like a Vezina favourite after that crazy hot start, who reminded people he’s always been a bum? Me.

When Johnny and Chucky had the makings of career years, who reminded people it’s only because they’re in contract years and will walk/hold out? Me.

Lesson of the day: pessimism always wins out. Odds are, your team will fail, make sure you end up on the right side of history by predicting failure.

That’s why all my life lessons were learned from Marge Simpson.
There’s so many things wrong about this post. Not sure where to start. First off, the chest pumping is very annoying but whatever. But let’s get to where you are wrong.

Sutter has made a difference on the team and no 9-10 game span where the schedule has been all over the place with ridiculous breaks in between games will tell me different. The first 25 games, this was a good team, who were earning their wins and deserved their spot atop the division/conference. The main reason for that is Darryl. He’s made a difference. So you’re wrong there.

No 10 game stretch will ever equate to “falling off a cliff”. They’re in a slump with more than half a season to go. So again, you’re wrong there.

Markstrom isn’t a bum. Ridiculous statement. Is he playing poor now? Yep. No doubt. Needs to be better but you know what, the best goalies in the game can’t be sharp every night. He has shown the Flames that he’s got the talent. Let him get back into a groove of playing steady. Goalies are creatures of routine. All these week long plus breaks have been brutal for a lot of goalies lately.

Maybe some truth to Johnny and Tkachuk having great seasons because of a contract but why is that a bad thing? They’re playing well. Johnny has earned every right to walk this summer and if chooses to do that, there’s not a thing in the world that management can do. Don’t really get your dunk attempts on the contract thing. But whatever.

Odds are the team will likely fail from the ultimate goal but 31 teams can say that every year. You trying to crap on people and chest pump for not thinking like you is really odd.

When the franchise only focuses on being better then the Oilers and out bidding them on FAs what do we expect

How many time have you read “at least we aren’t the Oilers “

Darryl Sutter had a glorious run as GM of this team up until he replaced himself as coach.

Then the wheels fell off.

Getting in a rhythm could definitely help - but it could also destroy the season. Once this team gets the ball rolling on a busy part of the schedule, if they don’t have things sorted out the season could be over in two weeks. As is, going 2-7-1 in their last 10 has erased their strong start. They’re now in a fight for their playoff lives, and now we can see what the team is really made of.

I’m concerned to hear Sutter echo the previous coaches. There’s a small number of players who have been here for it all, and an even smaller group that have been part of the leadership group through the years. I don’t have a lot of belief in Monahan and Backlund’s ability to deliver what they need to deliver for this team to find success.

Thankfully didn't watch but not surprising to see so many names in the PGT that I haven't seen after wins.

Anyway, seems like the team needs a shakeup (trade, waivers) and would love for Mony to get different linemates.

I’d respond but I can’t because my tongue is so firmly planted in my cheek.

After you, I’m probably the second biggest eternal optimist on this board when it comes to the flames. I just like messing around is all.

You know it was a bad night when it seemed like Ritchie was on the ice all night and checking the stats, he was actually only on for 10:46.

Tough day for Markstrom, Demko getting that all star nod
