As mentioned below, it might not be totally up to the Flames. League wide HRR may come unto play.
I'm disappointed and annoyed. I have a schedule confliction, so need to sell the tickets, but the market is basically zero.

I just received a similar response ending with "should you not be interested or able to attend, we would advise that you post games for resale, similar to if you were unable to attend the games in the past" Yes of course, the resale market that literally doesn't exist, I better get right on that...

I don't think its HRR driven specifically, but more revenue-revenue related. If they let everyone cancel, that is $X more out of their pocket via credits next year. Sure it would be the fair thing to do, but this is an entity that is looking to extract every penny from its most loyal fans.
Don't forget the staff payment debacle last year, this team is loyal only to the almighty buck, not you or its employees.

FYI to you and everyone KidsUpfront gives you a tax receipt for the amount paid for the tickets. 30%-40% (guestimate tax rate depending on income and donations in the year) tax savings not all that shabby to be honest considering you'd be lucky to be 20% value in cash. Plus you get to help a kid have a wicked night (esp since they're likely less sad about the lack of Dome Foams than you or I)

Being a season ticket holder doesn’t make you a loyal fan.
A loyal fan would be attending the game to watch the Flames in person. Masked and vaxxed of course. Because they love watching hockey.
A person upset about resale, or the lack of beer is justified… but shouldn’t call themselves the “most loyal” because they are getting screwed.
You’re just the biggest cash cows.

Are the most loyal fans the ones that rearrange their entire lives to attend all games? What about those who have conflicts that come with life like work, childcare, and other obstacles that make it tough to get to 40 games a year. Now those tickets are unable to be sold for anything close to the cost incurred by the season ticket holder.
I am going to donate all my games under these restrictions that I can’t give away to friends and family but it sucks that it could end up being $1000 or more of money lost in my pocket.
The Flames have the option to sell 50% of the dome that onus should be on them not putting that back on the fans who invest thousands of their hard earned dollars for the live game experience. As soon as these restrictions were announced there should have been an opt in or opt out for STH. They would k pe who opted in and how any remaining tickets they had to sell to hit the 50% limit. The fans they cherish the most are the ones who are scrambling to try and recoup a fraction of the money they lost because there have only had 48hrs to try and sell their tickets.

Honestly the Flames don't even have to be altruistic in this to arrive at what might be the right path.
If they put themselves first they would be wise to do a risk/reward analysis on selling maybe 1500 less seats but not losing any season ticket holders going forward.
Though I have no idea how big the waiting list is or if there even is one at this point.
Can't be a good business plan to tick off the people that are there every year.

Oh sure, then I’ll be parched AF and be banned from drinking any water. By the time the games over my mouth will be actual sandpaper.

I've been thinking about a new product, which is essentially just a camelpack with the spout integrated into a mask.

I'm just thankful I was able to defer my season tickets at the start of the season. For those of you that stuck with them for this season, this really sucks, and very short sighted of the Flames.

I just wonder if people who were able to opt out of this game will not be given the option to do so for the next game so the rest of us don’t get stuck with all these ####ty tickets.
I’m stuck with mine for tonight and they will likely be empty as I can’t go even if I wanted to due to a prior engagement and no one will buy them and will be difficult to give away for free even.
Just hope the opt out pool shrinks next game to increase my odds of some credits until these restrictions are lifted.

The NHL delaying additional games because of capacity restrictions was a weird decision.
You don't control when capacity restrictions will be lifted, and you already had to make up about 3 weeks of games due to COVID delays.
Not sure how they plan to re-schedule all these games, and there is no guarantee the restrictions will be better when that time comes.

Guessing they were making an assumption on omicron based on the Eastern hemisphere results which loosely suggested a two to three week run up and then a drop in case count.

Have there actually been any games in Canada yet with only 50% capacity? Or will tonight be the first?
I know Edmonton played Toronto a week ago but there were no fans in the stands for that one...

Well, next on the schedule is Florida and Sam Bennett's return on Tuesday Jan 18. The Panthers have a back-to-back at home starting tomorrow, and then leave for a road trip that includes CGY, EDM, VAN, SEA, WPG. I don't see them making up those games later in the season, so my guess is that it will proceed.

Perhaps some people don't need to have an alcoholic drink, but they want to.
or maybe they just want to have a sip of freaking water from time to time.
you spend that kind of money for a ticket, it's maddening that you can't choose to have a beverage or bite to eat.

I’m going to the game tonight, it’ll be like the game I went to in Moscow 10 years ago, no alcohol allowed in the stadium, concourse only had like one food dish that I wasn’t sure if you needed to eat in concourse, but no one brought food to their seat. Also was only like 50% full. I still had fun
