using points right now at all is laughable
they are 2nd in their division in points %

after 11 home games and 22 road

14th overall in points %
Calgary is .606
Vegas is in 8th overall and first in the division with .615

Its ridiculously tight, few losses dropped them big time, a few wins do the same. Considering the schedule they have played over 600 hockey is pretty impressive IMO.

If they Flames play even with the likes of Anaheim, SJ, Edmonton, LA from this point on they coast into home ice in round one

14th overall in points % is really not that great...?

Compare that to all the other teams that have played two-thirds of their games on the road. Get back to me with the results.

Conference and division points % is much more important than total points%.

11 home games and 22 road playing over .600 hockey is pretty darn good

Standings are also ridiculously tight, there are a whole bunch of teams that you would consider very good who have a slightly better points percentage despite a much more balanced schedule.

All this being said league standings are irrelevant anyway...right now the Flames are on pace to have home ice in round one. That isn't good?

Flames are 8 points out of 1st in the division with SIX games in hand

do the math on that even if the Flames play their current pace they are right there for the division title

When will Habs hire a darn GM so we can trade for Tofolli. We need a scoring RW. History with Sutter in LA, played with Mony in juniors...seems like an obvious fit.

Say goodbye to Pelletier in that deal. A French Canadian prospect tearing up the A as a rookie? That is who they will want.

Great teams get results no matter the circumstance, every other team makes excuses.

We're doing alright this season...better than mediocre. But my hope for this team is to take the next step and becomes a truly elite team that is a cup contender every year for say the next 5 years. We're clearly a little bit away from being that kind of a team. So for people to come out and say "We're so great", "We've had a tough schedule", "We're 2nd in the west" just makes it seem like there's no desire to put pressure on management to get this team better.

I mean we all want to see this team become better and become a true cup contender, no?

It’s more a response to “oh noes, Edmonton is making moves - I’m a scared, Calgary needs to knee-jerk sign Kane”.

I think that’s just fine. You have to give to get and though I like Pelletier a lot, it’s a pretty fair ask.

I really love what Sutter has done as a coach. I think we need one more top-6 forward and maybe some depth scoring (to replace Pitlick and maybe Ritchie). Then with Sutter's system we should be really dangerous.

I personally don't want Kane on this team, but I can see the appeal of having him.

Toffoli is my target personally. I think he will cost a bit less than the Girouxs and the Hertls. Crouse would also be amazing for the bottom 6.

Ya, I didn't say we shouldn't do it, I just think this will be the ask.

Tell that to Tampa in 2019.

Great teams are identified after the fact because they already got the results. But to the sort of deranged fan who thinks those results are predictable, every valid reason for failure sounds like an excuse.

You think you want that more than the team's management wants it? We all have precisely zero say in whether they can actually do it or not. If you think you can put more pressure on Brad Treliving by complaining about him on a message board, and that such pressure will magically make his job performance improve, there is probably a substance out there that you need to lay off.

Well, the Flames have never won a playoff game between October and January, so I guess they are absolute garbage this season, just like every other.

Armia struggling this season and benched tonight. But he’s a big RHS RW who was over .5 PPG for a few years running until last season. Monahan for him straight up?
