When discussing players health, Darryl just said they had 2 players test positive in the past few days. Felt like he maybe was trying to make a point and embellishing (hate to say flat out lying) but I think we would have heard something by now, no?

Maybe they’re not reporting it the same. But ya, probably the latter

I think there has to be 2 positive tests before being added to the protocol list.

Might be as simple as a couple false positives on a couple guys and when re-tested they were negative.

Or they are still waiting on the results from test number 2.

He also said that many of the players are still suffering from effects. Not at 100%.

That part I totally believe. Given what we know its to be expected. It was the statement that they just had 2 players test positive that raised my eyebrows.

Are they testing despite having most of the team on that 90 day testing hiatus?

If so he might be pointing out that they can play because of the 90 day status, but are testing positive anyway making the whole safety thing somewhat suspect.

And I say that not with judgement ... honestly the league, the team, the city, the province, the country and the planet are trying to catch up to what is best every day. Tough world for decision makers right now.

Well I believe the testing comment was qualified with a Darryl Sutter patented TBQH which we know is a bit of a tell.

I had COVID over the holidays.

The weirdest part isn't necessarily the symptoms that you'd think (cough, cold, etc) would linger but more the mental / fatigue aspects that have lingered.

It's been about 2 1/2 weeks now and I still am not sure if I'm 100% yet in terms of being able to focus and it feels like you have a bit of brain fog. I'd say that fatigue remains an issue too as I tend to feel tired quicker and not as rested from sleep.

I'm sure some of the players are feeling that too.

100% this, I also had COVID over the holidays, 2 weeks out now. Had what I would consider very mild cough/congestion/scratchy throat kind of thing. But the brain, fog and lingering fatigue is frustrating.

The best way I could describe the lingering mental fatigue, is like when you wake up in the middle of the night and you can’t quit grasp the concept of anything for the first couple minutes.

Apparently Elias Lindholm was feeling under the weather as per Darryl Sutter. Could be a reason why his game had slipped a bit. He was certainly a lot better tonight. Very strong game.

Who the hell are they talking to this morning at 8am? Oilers talk. I literally have tuned in 3 times since October, and I used to listen to daily, for 10+ years.

It’s either football or gambling 99% of the time.

"He said/she said" with regards to the rights? I have no idea what that could mean. And they're not traveling with the team because the team doesn't want them to or they don't want to go?

I assumed they aren't travelling either due to COVID or Rogers totally cutting back.

They had Mark Spector on to dissect the moody Leon and Jim Matheson moment... then it descended into madness with Spector trying his best to hold back his Oilers homerism but failing miserable
