Wild waive Rem Pitlick.
6g 5a in 20 games for the Wild after claiming him off waivers from Nashville.
1 year cap hit of $917k then RFA.
Could be a depth scoring piece.

So, I was curious when was the last time we made a trade that involved shipping out a roster player for a roster player. I believe what some people call a hockey trade. Only to find out it was Neal for Lucic. That was back in 2019. This trade was more a convenience of removing a signing mistake and hopefully the player they got back was not as bad as the player being sent out. Obviously, Calgary won that trade. Of course, there is the Hamilton trade for Hanifin and Lindholm, and like the Lucic trade completed in the off season.
More to the point I wonder what the chances are we will see a player for player trade? it looks like it is hard for the Flames to make these types of trades at all and next to impossible during the season. What would be everyone guess of a player for player swap before the NHL trade deadline 10%, 40%, 75%? Judging from what I seen it looks like 10% which is kind of disappointing to me as it would be awesome to see.

I actually think it may be more likely this year than most, because they have to anticipate clearing room for Gaudreau and Tkachuk and it’s better to trade a guy like Monahan at the TDL. So They might trade Monahan plus extras for someone who maybe makes the same, but is a rental.

One Pitlick on a Pitlick line? That's not enough Pitlick.

If you can’t have a Pitlick on both sides you just feel off for the rest of the day.

Just reading an article here that listed 6 targets for CGY not named Kane.
1. Christian Fischer
2. Barret Hayton
3. Dominik Kubalik
4. Jack Roslovic
5. Zack Sanford
6. Rasmus Ristolainen
3 of the 5 are RFA RHS RW. 1 is a center.
I think I'd try to get both Hayton and Fischer in one deal.
Then double down on Roslovic.

I like both Hayton and Fischer, but man-they sure don't put up numbers. Fischer is 24, and a RW (which we could use), but he's gone way downhill after putting up a 33-pt season in his first full season in the league. He's supposed to be a good playmaking power forward in this league-he's got size and strength, good along the boards, and skates fairly well. Not sure what's wrong with Hayton, as he's a 5th overall pick, but Phoenix can't be good for any young player's development-just look at Clayton Keller. I think coming here would be a huge boost to his career.

Wasn't Roslovic part of the Laine trade and really wanted to go to Colombus and didn't want to sign with the Jets?

Guys like Hayton are the reason why I think it's so risky to draft guys with poor NHLes in the 1st round.
But I think they can be good bottom 6 players for a long time.

Roslovic is from Columbus.
I think he would have signed with WPG for the right amount. I think WPG was trying to squeeze him.

Barrett Hayton destroyed the OHL in his draft year with 66 points in 39 games and then 12 points in 7 WJC games. It's only when he hit the Coyotes developmental system and a cup of coffee in the NHL that he fell off a cliff.
If you can get Hayton at a discount, you put him on the Heat and teach him to play pro hockey. The skills are all there.

I don't want any of these players to be honest. What we need more than anything is a legit 2nd line C.

Treliving should make a quick trade to get Pitlick and give Benning a call. Oh wait...
