Well, I mean...we're an utterly mediocre team, and Edmonton is also a mediocre team...and then Edmonton's out there trying to improve while we just revel in our mediocrity and play Ritchie and Pitlick as top 9 forwards.

Have a look at Edmonton's third line...also, when have they improved their roster? They are worse this year than last.

Calgary improved its team more than Edmonton in the offseason. No reason to believe that Treliving isn’t still trying to do so, whether he’s spoken to Kane’s agent or not.

It especially doesn't make sense in this case, Kane is looking to pad his stats and get a contract next season. Not come to a team and buy into Darryl's system.

And Mactavish, while doing something more terrible in the result, went to jail for it and you could seriously argue that was not going to be a recurrence. He also supposedly met often with the parents of the person he killed while in jail, did a bunch of school talks about drinking and driving and served on an Edmonton anti-drunk driving program.

And MacTavish had one terrible incident, regretted it deeply and openly, paid his dues to society, took the punishment and came back a model citizen.
It’s always someone else’s fault in whole or in part with Kane, and it’s been multiple incidents and multiple bad decisions over almost a decade.
He was supposed to fly straight in the AHL, and still had Covid related rule issues which got his contract terminated.
Again, this is going to get ugly between him and the Sharks no matter where he lands after.
