They were running clock to ensure the tie for themselves, but not necessarily for the Chargers.

Better for the Raiders to win... if they tied, Raiders would play the Chiefs...now they get to play Cincy. So slightly better opponent.

Maybe they don’t try the kick if it’s longer than 50 years, or say 55 yards. That was the Chargers chance for a tie but the yards on that last run sealed it.

The timeout was meaningless.

I get that, its still an incredibly stupid call

Raiders are never going to admit exactly what they were gonna do but if there was no timeout there and the Chargers didn't allow the first down on the play that would have happened the Raiders would have killed the 30 seconds IMO

If you’re playing for a tie you just take a knee. The timeout meant nothing.
