LOL. O’Neal’s rap about Kobe says different.

Agreed. Selfishness is never tolerated by teammates.

I’d put up with selfishness over no skills like Richardson, Pitlick, Ritchie, Lewis and Monahan

Seem a bit more extreme with Kane though. According to reports at the year end exit interviews his team mates flat out said that they don't want him back. It takes something special for his team to not want their leading scorer back I'd think.

I'm not about cancel culture, and certainly taking a person's ability to make money away from them is completely ####ty, but Kane just always says the right thing but does something else. Just because he thinks he comes across as eloquent doesn't mean he deserves a chance. He's not making much of an effort if he's just saying the right things. I know why hockey GM's want to sign him in the cap world. But it also gives off a message once again in pro sports you can get away with being a dbag as long as you produce results. It's just lazy for GMs to bring such a person to their organization. He shows no effort in being a good human and teammate, and he makes mistake after mistake after saying he's a good guy, and it makes you believe he's a sociopath. I personally can't stand people like that in the corporate world (and there are enough to go around), but in the sports world it must be rampant if they can turn a blind eye that quickly.

Sutter wouldn't put Kane on the taxi squad if he was the only player available.

Bonds and Kent made the World Series in 2002 despite getting into a fight mid-game and Kent asking to be traded.

I'm sure there's dozen behind the scenes that are kept there. Hard to get 20 ore more people together and not have feuds, throw in ego of super talented, rich individuals and of course you'll have fights.

I don't remember where I heard this but I think that Kobe thought that Shaq was lazy. Kobe said if Shaq had a better work ethic he would be the best player to ever play the game.

Kobe was probably the hardest working player to ever play the game so I could understand his dislike if he saw huge potential in a player with a subpar work ethic.

The Antoine Brown of the NHL. Brown also submitted a fake COVID vaccination card and got suspended.

My hope and belief with the Flames is that they are too organized and too classy to ever knowingly take on a player like this. It's one thing to have some issues or not be a perfect person. It's another to continue down a path of personal recklessness. It's cancer.

I'd be pretty disappointed in the Flames if they brought a slimeball like that into our community. We don't need him abusing people around here like he has throughout his career and probably his life.

I can't imagine who a billionaire with a sense of decency would want to give a guy like this his money. I think the NHL is done with him. I hope the NHL is done with him.

Far too much judgement is being passed on a person we all know nothing about.

Instead of condemning the dude, I just hope he’s actually getting the help he needs to address the bigger problems he has (it sounds an awful lot like he has a gambling addiction which has created an instability in his life that he, as of yet, hasn’t been able to overcome).

I’d be pretty proud of the Flames organization if they’re willing to extend a hand and give him the opportunity to get his life on track on and off the ice. They’ve done it before.

If the Flames do decide to take a chance on Evander Kane I think I would be okay with it and support them on the decision.

Between Darryl Sutter and Brian McGrattan you never know.

Serious question, how many times do you give that hand? How many "passes" on conduct do you give someone?

I'd far rather give a Nintendo to a single mom than give a hockey player with a track record of being an absolutely dismal person yet another shot at the big leagues. He's had his chances and done nothing with them.

People want Kane out of the league for issues in his personal life. Issues that aren’t illegal (thus far) and most definitely not proven in court.

That’s not how the world works folks. Kane can be the biggest POS (in your opinion) but if he can put the puck in the net, a team will sign him. That all changes only if he does something illegal. Then personal life troubles do actually matter in pro sports.

How many chances does a player get until you know it's gonna end in disaster.

He's burnt bridges everywhere he's gone. He doesn't deserve anymore chances since he's not gonna change while he's a hockey player. Flames aren't special, and aren't gonna yield any better results from him. And considering the locker room culture Sutter is trying to build, he wouldn't be compatible.

I think a team will take a chance on him but I am not convinced the Flames are a team that has the room to handle the drama he brings to a team.

This is a guy who has been run out of 3 organizations. His most recent teammates universally wanted him gone and yet he continues to deny and deflect with every opportunity.

He does bring things the Flames could use. Most importantly he would bring secondary scoring but he also brings speed and plays with an edge.

I don’t see home coming to Canada unless it is his only option. I see him ending up on the Hurricanes, Lightning, Blues, or Bruins

This guy just can't stop punching himself in the dick. I hope the KHL shuns him too and he ends up in some 3rd tier league in a non hockey country playing for his free apartment.

I imagine we've discussed it more here than the Flames themselves have
