Haters just gonna keep hating. I hope all allegations regarding the accusations his ex-wife made are eventually proven to be completely fabricated. I hope that would teach a lot of people not to trash someone without even any evidence. Innocent until proven guilty. This society needs to get back to that.

Its hard to envison a post more obtuse and wrong.

Evander Kane is a person. With a life. What he chooses to do with that life is his own business.

He is in debt to Vegas casinos up to his eyeballs. Bankrupt. The entire NHL was given the opportunity to take him and 32 GMs passed.

Trash him? No evidence? Even if any of that were true...who cares?

He is an NHL vagrant. Passed on from team to team. Smoke and fire and all that.

Either way, he is just another in a long line of professional athletes who had it all and proceeded to piss it all away.

"The only place he needs to prove himself is in the Court of Law?"

Which one?

Bankruptcy?

Family?

He's going to spend so much time in Court Rooms he should abandon his NHL career (as if he has much choice) and look into getting a Law Degree and trying to pass the bar.

What does this mean money wise? Are they paying him out or do they not have to pay him ?

I read they don't and they think the cap hit won't apply either.

He gets nothing I believe seeing as he breached his contract.

#sjsharks notified Evander Kane his contract is being terminated "for breach" and "for violation of the AHL COVID-19 protocols."

My question is, does he have to repay what he was given during the time period he's been in this mess. Since technically he's been deemed in breach for what, almost a year now?
Or are the Sharks just going to walk away and wash their hands of him.

Kane violated the terms of his contract, he gets no payout, I'm not sure on the cap hit side of things, but the Sharks don't care, and I doubt unless Kane does some major Mea Culpa's that he's going to find a home unless its like in a Quebec semi pro league if those exist anymore.

I think the Sharks will just walk away.

Gotta think this is going to end up in yet another Evander Kane lawsuit. I wonder what next in his future the KHL, the hospital, or the morgue? That's the Chicago way!

Sharks cleared waited for him to even just slightly misstep in the AHL, likely after promising he wouldn't after his NHL Covid breach.
That said, my guess is that the breach of contract claim is going to get messy.

I'm sure the league and Bettman went over this with a fine toother comb with the Sharks to make sure this would stick no matter what Kane tried to fight or appeal. I dont think they'd just do this without knowing their success probability was over 90% .

I dunno - the Kings tried without asking with Richards.

ETA: I kinda hope the Sharks have to eat some cap space at least somehow.

I’m sure he can get some decent coin in the KHL somewhere.

Yeah, I am pretty sure Kane will fight this to get a similar payout to what Richards got with LA.
