Ya nobody is saying that. We played 3 elite teams and it showed. There is no delusion that we are a cup contender at this point.

Kylington took a step back this trip. Still wheeling offensively but he’s been giving it away and not covering as well. Mangiapane and Lucic have cooled right off. Lindholm as well. Chuckie’s getting points but I’m not liking his game that much outside of a couple minutes per game.

Thought Coleman and Andersson were OK on this trip and Tanev was Tanev. Johnny was good.

2-3 on the toughest road trip of the year. Obviously not good enough, but not completely terrible either, considering the long break just before the trip and the fact that this team has logged a lot of time on the road.

Hopefully they can come home and right the ship over these next couple of games, and get some of their early season mojo back.

Awful display of hockey by the team the past three games. They were completely outclassed in every facet of the game.

Well that trip exposed that Sutter is definitely making this team perform more than the sum of it's parts. Flames can compete against most teams in the league as a result of that, but when it comes to facing elite teams, this team has no shot due to the major drop off in offense after Mangiapane. Not being Edmonton in having McDavid and Draisaitl still scoring goals, the Flames are in tough when the first line can be shut down.

Gaudreau tho showed he's elite; considering he was still pretty productive against these teams. Definitely need to lock him up.

Monahan is a complete shell of himself, and can't contribute anymore. His lack of goal productions considering his salary is a big weakness in the roster. Bad cap hits with him and Backlund considering their lack of production. If that was spent instead on players that can get the puck in the net more often, Flames might've gotten a win or two instead against the top teams.

That being the case then I think it makes sense to be sellers at the deadline

That is the toughest 3 game stretch of the season. And it's over. Learn from it, practice, get going at home and start a new winning streak.

Not the end of the world.

The only positive I can get from this road trip is we won't have to play all 3 of those teams in the playoffs. It would only be one, assuming one makes it to the SCF.

We can hang with the contending teams, but we lack a top 6 forward. Also have to limit our defensive mistakes. Feel like we generate a lot of turnovers every second period and allow the opposing team to grab momentum.

Flames need more good players. Simple as that.

Agreed. But I really see few options to add them.

Too many giveaways in the O-zone; too little coverage in the D-zone. There's a reason Sutter was pissed at Andersson.

Sigh. Still, boys against men all three games.

Flames need some more size and skill upgrades yet before they can hope to contend. Or they need to play a hell of a lot better. They played OK in one period vs Florida, one period and a bit vs Tampa, and around a period vs Carolina. That just isn't going to get it done.

If you thought the flames were going to win any of the last 3 games, you have some serious issues.
They just don’t have the horses. Sutter mixed them up to see what he gets but they are way over matched

Bad goal by Markstrom vs Lomberg in FLA in the 2nd and even worse by Vladar tonight also in the second.

Otherwise the Flames would've been down by 1 goal in all 3 games going into the third in each. Not ideal but would've made the dynamics of those 2 games different.

Need a second line who aren't easily pushed off the puck (Coleman was the best second liner this trip) and a guy like Lindholm needs to get going too.

How is it that Carolina has a better post game show/coverage than Calgary?

Rogers/CBC is a blight on Canadian hockey.

Goaltending has gone from a strength to a weakness for the Flames over the last 10-12 games. Markstrom has a .903 save percentage over his last 10 starts, and Vladar was not good tonight.

Oh please.

Any team can win on any given night. Tampa alone has been shutout by Ottawa and lost 5-1 to Buffalo.

Not defending their performance but it makes me wonder whats going on In their heads.
Team gets COVID
Team gets better
Team has games canceled and begins wondering .
This teams mental makeup frightens me. Just add a little doubt and guys just stop playing .
No more pace, urgency, or GAF.....none.

Let's hope this is short lived but I'm not holding any hopes for this group. Recency bias with this team just reared its ugly head.

!@#$

I have to admit, looking at your posting history you really picked a very peculiar username.
