He might get more because he’s a repeat offender.

I would be surprised due to the nature of the play but have no issue with that either.
Was hoping to see him play vs the Flames though, so hope it’s a fine

Happy not to be facing Bennett and his physicality, but damn, that Florida team is so good regardless. Going to be a good tape measure game. Let’s hope their goaltending is subpar.

Doesn't matter whether he has a case. And no, if he appeals, the suspension is put on hold until the appeal takes place

I think it was the right call. Now if only the ref can get disciplined for not even calling a penalty at the time.

It didn't for Spezza's appeal though...
Suspended for 6 games, appealed it immediately, sat out 4 games while it was being appealed and was eventually reduced to the 4 games he already sat out.
Quote:
Toronto Maple Leafs forward Jason Spezza had his six-game suspension reduced to four games by NHL commissioner Gary Bettman on Friday.
Spezza was suspended on Dec. 7, two days after kneeing Winnipeg Jets defenceman Neal Pionk in Toronto's 6-3 loss. He already has sat out four games and is eligible to return for the Maple Leafs on Saturday when they visit the Vancouver Canucks.

No, there doesn’t appear to be a stay for appeals, unlike, say, the CFL.

Ask Spezza and Wideman

Every single suspension would be appealed if that were the case.
Wideman ended up missing more games than he was suspended for because the appeal took so long

Maybe because it was an in-person?
The NHL is nothing, if not bafflingly inconsistent though

In-person doesn't matter man...NHL suspensions are not stayed upon appeal
Bennett is missing the Flames game

Will Bennett be able to play the home game vs the Panthers on the 18th?
