Mcdavid 27:57!!

Good thing they don’t play until….. tomorrow.

Bob was actually making the case early in game that 11F was ideal cause they could sneak Connor out for more shifts. I agree that the Oiler’s issue is that they don’t play him enough.

Two even strength goals and a minus 1 is very McDavid

So even with the league helping out, the Oilers still aren't good enough to win. Ha. Ha. Stupid Oilers.

The Oilers are 2-7-1 in their last 10. I think that's pretty neat.

But once again according to Oilers fans it's all Tippett's fault and not the fact that they're a two man team who just isn't very good.

Honestly Tippett has done what he can with the team he has, including playing his guys big minutes. It’s just futile if they don’t get really good goaltending. Not even elite - but they need a top 10 guy in the pipes to make the whole “get caved in at even strength without McDavid on the ice and make it up with elite finishing and power play” thing go.

Lukewarm take: the Flames and VGK is going to be a truly epic 2nd round series this year.

Hot take: the Kings are the best team in California and the Ducks will miss the playoffs.

I would add that the Oilers needed a huge upgrade on their D pairings and decided to trade for $5.5!million 38 year old Duncan Keith. Horrible waste of cap money . Sure they needed some veteran leadership , but they needed someone that could still play up to a $5.5 million cap hit .

Seemed like a pretty iffy PS call. He wasn't in the clear, they were side by side and got held. Thought that would just be a holding call for 2 minutes?

Shots 35-10 for VGK… dominance. And without their entire first line and starting goaltender.

As a Canucks fan the Oiler's current trend is good news!

9-11-1 since their hot start (9-1-0)

Their PP ran at an even 50% over those first 10 games. Since then? Not even a bubble team.

The Canucks would need another 7 game winning streak for it to matter, everyone has games in hand against them.

It is interesting though because they are built similarly (read: badly). But while the Oilers are getting the special teams success and strong finishing from their offensive guys, the Canucks are getting the elite goaltending. You need both to win if you’re going to suck at even strength and allow scoring chances the way those blue lines do.
