I don't think Poolman has any trade value at all, but maybe I'll be surprised.

If I am not mistaken, Senyshyn will be a group 6 UFA next summer. He will be free to sign anywhere he wants; I'm guessing his NHL choices will be few

In 2015, Boston had those 3 first-rounders in a row-and went with Zboril, Debrusk, and Senyshyn. The next three picks were Barzal, Connor, and Chabot-and they also left Boeser and Konecny on the board. Very upsetting if you're a Bruins fan. What a team they would have....

Yeah, I remember thinking that the strategy they had was solid to get three guys in a row in those spots. But they really whiffed hard on those picks. From what I remember of this board Barzal, and Chabot were both quite popular choices for the Flames to take had they kept the pick and Connor was a guy that a lot of people liked too. I don't remember Zboril or Senyshyn being talked about much as guys the Flames should take. Even if they hit on two of those guys it would have given them that extra boost to probably win 1 cup and possibly two since that draft. Even teams who find talent like the Bruins pretty consistently still struggle to get it right early in the draft.

I’d rather stop grabbing other teams “fixer uppers”
To me these guys just remind me way too much of Curtis Lazar.
Look at how our own prospects are finally blooming, can we just trust our scouts and keep our own picks and let our own pipeline thrive like Carolinas has

What got Senyshyn drafted was his outstanding speed, combined with size and a bit of grit (and his hands). He has shown, though that for a "scoring winger" he sure doesn't score a lot. I'm not sure what he even does for you in your bottom-6-he's not known for his defensive skills....

Come on - Lazar had his career year here.

Senyshyn is at the point in his development right now, that a drafting team would hope him to be at two years ago. He's about 0.70 ppg at the ahl level and has rounded put his game. If that translates to half of that at the NHL level, that's a reasonable expectation. The player and the bruins are too invested, and he could have success moving on.
His value in trade is low. Very little risk, for a potential younger Ritchie.

I would much rather target Alex Nylander than Senyshyn if we're giving a shot to a reclamation.
Alex:
- Calgarian (born here!)
- former top 10 pick, Dad played for the team
- Swedish
- Right handed
Seems to suffer from motivation issues but has shown electric talent in the past. With more usage he was .4ppg on a crap chicago team last season. Having a very bad time in the AHL at the moment (didnt fit in, seems very unmotivated...)
This is the type of horse we should try to run.

I don't think Alex has shown enough. I was a fan when he was a prospect but at this stage he isn't showing enough at the AHL level. And he's a guy that if not producing in an offensive role for you - is entirely useless.

He's shown as much or more than Senyshen. I don't know, I'm not high on either, but if we're looking at reclamations let's look this way instead of that.

A.Nylanders injury status is a perpetual concern. I'd love to give him a shot. But I don't think it'd happen.

With motivational issues sounds like his dad. Too bad he does not have his dad's talent.

Scoring Winger

How about Brad get off his butt and make a real hockey trade to address lack of scoring in top 6. One line won’t get us to the promise land. It’s not like this is news

Don't you dare say anything bad about the hardest working GM in the league. He is too busy trying to "raise the price" on players for other teams in trades and outdoing the Oilers .. without doing anything for his own team.
We all know this team needs scoring for a few seasons now. Glad, the Flames brought in Coleman - his 4 goals have helped so much.

Yeah, just look at how many trades other GMs have made this season…
I know we all love trades and trade talk. But it has to sink in at some point that trades are barely a thing anymore in the NHL outside of the flurry of activity around the draft and free agency windows.

True but it's undeniable Treliving trails his peers when it comes to making impact trades. What are we looking at after 8 years here.. the two Hamilton trades and? Hamonic? Ugh... just a sea of mid tier lateral moves while giving decent picks away. Maybe he's learned? Hopefully.
The farm seems to have some peices, gotta give him that. Maybe the need to pull the trigger on an impact guy has lessened? I really hope he doesn't pull his yearly "look at me I can make a trade' trades and brings in depth for picks. Enough of that. It's time to see what some of these kids can do. If he does do something I'd actually be in favor of moving out a Monahan or a dube, maybe off season, and getting Pelletier and/or zary... or even corranato in there. Calgarys farm finally looks really good after years of meh. It's coming together. Time actually run with some of these guys... maybe not quite yet... but soon
There's even some decent middle 6 fwd and d options... potential peices that are worth a look.i still think highly of valimaki... maybe not a true top 2, but I think he will be the guy on pair two for years... maybe with Mackey? That kind of thing would allow them to move hanifin or andersson. Like those guys for sure but I bet in 1-2 years there isn't a ton of separation there. It would allow them to get cheaper while augmenting another area or getting more picks. The stuff good teams do basically
