Ya, so I don’t what you mean by the link doesn’t show what I was saying.
Symptoms are lesser than delta. Because it’s not accumulating in the lungs and instead more in the bronchial passages. Hence the change in symptoms.
And when a virus is the nasal canal, passages And throat, the easier it is to transfer through droplets. Basically all 4 known coronavirus that circulate yearly.

This thing is looking more and more like a rhinovirus cold, A couple more weeks of data like we're seeing we should remove our masks and let it take over.

Have one big spreader gathering downtown then everybody takes 10 days off. Then we move on.
Jk, wish it was that simple.

how about no?
because the omicron variant is still the only one out there? That people still aren't being hospitalized or dying from covid?
Not that I go out too often, but I'd rather not have it be easier for my 3 month old daughter who can't be vaccinated when we do go out.

Not necessarily. If it kills people right away, sure. But covid is most contagious before you have symptoms, so you can go around and infect lots of people before you die.

In a sense, this is the more likely scenario. Although not by any means a guarantee. The virus is so transmissible that it's already infected multiple people in most cases before the host even comes close to death. It very well could become much more virulent. By no means have humans as race done anything remarkedly well in response to covid due to politicizing science. We've just been incredibly lucky it's gone a better less virulent route. It could of gone more virulent and more transmissible.
The most popular hypothesis is that Covid got into a singular patient that was immunocompromised, likely in someone with aids, and this person also was infected with the common cold. The immune system attacked the viruses enough to get rid of the majority of them, but still remained, the viruses adapted, another wave of replication occurred, then another immune response occurred, and created a loop that went on for who knows how long and mutated together due to high prevalence of both viruses in one person, hence the many mutations on the binding receptors. Not fact, just most likely event.

Perhaps. Either way, it’s getting pretty frustrating seeing so many people stereotype anyone that doesn’t get vaccinated as uneducated idiots and those that are vaccinated as a better class of people. Fact is there is people of every race, sex, education level and profession (yes, even doctors and politicians!) that are and aren’t vaccinated from Covid for a variety of reasons.

Some days, much more obvious than others. Today is apparently one of those days.

Oh they're certainly not all uneducated. My sister is incredibly booksmart, but she's also stubborn, rebellious and prone to getting swept up in conspiracies. But mainly she just doesn't like being told what to do. She's just deeply untrusting which comes from childhood stuff. And I think that's the common denominator with vax resistant people who are still pushing against it now despite the huge amount of data available that points towards them being all but entirely safe.
It's largely people who have trust issues and are always on the defensive, believing the government and big pharma are out to turn them into mindless zombies or murder them.
Certainly correlates with a lack of education also, since those lacking education will use less intellectual/facts-based reasoning to counter the emotional "appeal" of these conspiracies, but is far from a cause and effect situation.

Yeah, I wasn't hurling insults or profanity at anyone but it's not one or the other. Enough kid gloves and explaining things slowly to an anti-vax person, we're too far into this for general politeness. That hasn't work.

Hahah we should have done this a long time ago Snuff. It's hilarious reading the confidence coming on now when really there was never a reason for the extreme positions in the first place. At every single stage of this virus the amount of you who would have actually gotten sick and came even remotely close to your death bed is remarkably low.
How come you're suddenly OK with crawling out of the condom you've been living inside for the past two years?

how many times do people have to be asked to keep the broader COVID debates out of this thread? I'm not a mod but geez people can you not follow some basic direction?

No, if there’s one thing this pandemic has proven to be fact, the willfully unvaccinated are a lower class of people. Untouchables, the lot of them.

All cross border games have been postponed through Dec 23. Seems like the players are worried about being stuck on the wrong side of the border away from families during Christmas in quarantine if they test positive.
