Possibly.
For the 10 millionth time, the vulnerable population is NOT "small"...but go ahead believing that.
The 5-million plus dead in the world, and the 300,000 dead Canadians argue against that.Young people with "long COVID"argue against that. Young dead people do too...but go ahead believing your crap.
PFO.
This thread was actually about hockey and the trials and tribulations of a hockey team, but seems to have been overrun by a few trolls who still think that some alien disguised as a government has flattened the earth, changed time into a mutable mud pie and are intent on enslaving everyone.
(can you tell I'm kinda fed up with this crap?)
For the record: I don't disagree that our political leadership, be it provincial or federal, and regardless of locale, is generally "inept"...but it has nothing to do with COVID.
OK ... I'm going back to make another Manhattan....it's been a long day and it's so &^%**&$#@ cold in Calgary - I'd much rather be back home in somewhat warmer BC. Ugh.
Meanwhile, in another timeline: Go Flames Go!

Holy Moly!!! This is 10x worse than I thought!
Crazy that we have 6% of the worldwide deaths and 0.5% of the population, maybe our healthcare does suck

Ya, this is true. Our government decided to spend a billion on advertising and and app for Covid tracking, instead of preparing our hospitals ppe. A virus thats been around since at least November 2019, and were acting like it’s a surprise still. Pull up any article in a news paper going back to 2015, and they all say how our hospitals are overrun with flu cases. They had plenty of time to support our healthcare system.

But why is it even a wave at all? With full vaccination, it seems the vast majority of cases are completely asymptomatic. Even the minority with symptoms only have mild cold symptoms.
There is no need for this to be a "wave". Enforce vaccination requirements and move on.
I'll be angry, sad, depressed, militant and just straight up pissed off if we miss attending Flames games, or any other part of life, over this!!!

Maybe we should possess a slight amount of caution regarding the impact of the omicron varient. The hope being that this variant will only result in mild symptoms is optimistic and has a potential of being the case - however there is much to learn so far and if it isn't the case and that it is more dangerous than a slight cold having massive indoor events may be less than advisable.
Patience may be a virtue in this instance.

It's a joke (for some still) until it happens to you or someone close to you.
Maybe that article hits home for some of the vaccine skeptics who have stopped by. If they won't listen to the government or health professionals, maybe the words of their hockey heroes will hit different.

Reading this morning that many around the NBA are already planning for a cessation and potential bubbling again.
#### covid. The best flames season in recent memory and it could get swung right off the rails.
Anyone unvaccinated reading this can literally go #### themselves.
