I don't think they'd be going if there were 6-8 positives in the org. We'll see. If there were actually 6-8 positives and they still traveled, well, now shadowlord has a case for the organization not learning its lessons from last season.

You mean the guy who didn't believe in covid and didn't want to protect himself?
Let's not go into bubbles to protect adults making their own decisions that put them at risk.
Society needs to move forward, hockey included.

Except they not only put themselves at risk, they transmit. Half-assed measures have set the comebacks back so many times.

Is a hockey playoff bubble going to stop covid? Not sure what you're getting at

The bubble may become necessary if the government imposes restrictions on border crossings.

If high case loads of Omicron aren't filling the hospitals, I expect we see this happen.
The problem with the insane pace of growth is you can't guess wrong early on, or the hospital system will collapse again.
We just need to be a little patient. We'll know in a couple more weeks what we're dealing with.

It will be included in general shutdowns, in order to carry on play. General shutdowns do curb COVID. The problem is impatience, every time.

I know this isn't the place to have this discussion, but it should be pointed out that severity of the average infection isn't the concern here. Instead, it is how easy the infection spreads.
If it's spreading 2-3x as fast, it's not going to matter that the chances of a significant infection are lower.

Yeah, and the only bright spot is that we'll still be ahead of the Oilers.

They had arguably the worst schedule to start the season, and after they start playing again they'll have so many games to make up they'll have one of the worst schedules in the 2nd half. Good times.

But they will be rested!
Oh, no.. they will be rusty!
Whatever. Teams that play the right way will most likely get good results

Hopefully they can somehow get a few practices in to stay in game shape before the get dumped into 10 games in 8 nights on the road.

Most of the games missed will be home games, except for Chicago and Nashville.

That's crazy. We have something like 60 cases in all of Alberta, and when they caught it, it was half that or less. Somehow it got to the team though. Sure explains why it hit so many vaccinated players.
