There has already been at least one player who's lost his career but OK.

Phillips also makes league minimum, FWIW. Pelletier does not.

Lifetime Suspension

I think this will serve the team in the short term. (as long as the affected players are only missing the Saturday game or two tops, not sure if they were put on protocol yesterday, would help)
They really needed a bit of a reset and some rest. Going out to Chicago and Nashville back to back is brutal after their schedule over the past month. I think no one needs the break more than the goalies.
Saturday will at the very least be really interesting to watch from a talent evaluation standpoint.

I Blame The Scorpion in California at the same time as the Flames… coincidence , I think not!
Next the 960 crew falls ill from just even connecting remotely.
He’s a scourge I tell you a scourge!

By moving games from a more condensed part of their schedule to a less condensed part? It will depend on where they insert the games but certainly has the potential to give them some needed rest at this point in a difficult schedule. These games were part of a five in eight days stretch.
And, if the Olympics are cancelled, they would open up even greater possibilities for re-scheduling. Too early to say how this will work out but there could be reason for optimism.

They played the Bruins after the Canes. I’d be very surprised if we don’t hear something out of Boston in the next day or so. Maybe for the Canucks as well who just played the Canes.

The alarmist in me is screaming all this Omicron crap is going to lead to another full blown lockdown. Seasons cancelled, everyone back into the holes and don't come out until spring.

I have a bad feeling that this is the start of an unfortunate chain of events.
Wonder if there will be hockey a month from now.

There’s going to be hockey. They’ll postpone and cancel games if they have to but they aren’t going to cancel their entire season.
