It most definitely did. Now that Jay has said he didn’t like their ad, I’m going straight out to buy a bunch of auto parts! And I don’t even own a car!

The MyPillow guy is a right-wing, election was stolen, conspiracy theorist.
He actually pulled his ads off Fox News as they wouldn’t play one he wanted as it was too much for them!

As someone who is in marketing, I can tell you that radio ads are not made to sell. They are made to brand. They are made for you to remember the name of the company so when you NEED someone, their name is top of mind.
Pete the Plumber did an amazing job of this for year.

Annoying ads that are thought to be funny/witty/cool don't do this though. As mentioned earlier, I literally turn off the radio when I hear the beginning of certain commercials - so I have zero idea what they are for anymore and therefor have zero brand recognition.
The instant someone begins to tell me their name in an ad, its switched away from or off entirely...so Colin Gin-whatever, I'm never shopping at whatever place you work at.
But if I do happen to sadly know what the ad is for, I will still switch away but also note never to shop there - which is a negative branding. (see Auto Value)

Thats the roll of the dice I guess. For every person that hates it, they hope a few more liked it or recall it.
The one where the guy has his grand kids in the ad bothers me so much I can't even recall what its for (I think its Acura) as I turn the volume down immediately. Now that is negative advertising. If you choose to put your kids or grand kids in an ad I can't trust your judgment.

I used to think the same, but after spending a few months behind the curtain consulting at Spence, and a few ‘Bro’ chats with Sean J in the years before that, you could not be more wrong.
It pains me to believe this, as the commercials make me cringe.

I would have used the word awareness, but I agree with this 100%. That is why such little money is spent on the ad itself.

I immediately knew who he's talking about. Those two have got to be the worst radio voices I've ever heard. Logan with his mumbling, always sounds like he's five or six beers into the shift. They both barely sound out of puberty which makes it even worse. They're un-listenable. It's too bad because I think their insight and knowledge of hockey and sports in general is quite good. Contrast with Nault, who I do think has a good radio voice, but his sour personality and lack of objective opinion makes HIM un-listenable also. Steinberg is..well, just vanilla Steinberg.

I don't trust anyone that stupid to sell me a product worth buying, and I don't advise anyone else to trust them either.
Contrary to what the idiot self-promotion gurus will tell you, there IS such a thing as bad publicity.

Except now, anybody reading that who needs car parts is like, “I know one place”.

Everybody in Canada knows at least one place to get car parts. That place even paid money to have an arena named after it.

Nault does not have a good radio voice! You take that back.
I don't mind Logan and Riley. Yes they sound like college kids and sometimes come off like them as i don't they they are old. but it adds flavour & variety to the program. I don't need middle aged guys with a rich history in radio all the time since they're more likely to come across like broken records. Especially cranky/jaded ones that have phoned in trying to grow beyond what they have been for years. I don't mind the young blood.

They’re talking about gambling? Is Mike Richards back? So boring, it drove me nuts when he started talking about whatever he was betting on.
