Miami Herald reporter Julie K. Brown, who in 2017 broke many of the stories that brought worldwide attention to circumstances that led to the case, has tweeted about her experiences waiting to get into the courthouse and about what she’s witnessing during the trial. Brown spoke on CNN’s “Reliable Sources” about the conspiracy theories that the media isn’t covering the trial: “There’s so many media there that there’s, some days, three overflow courtrooms full of the public and media. So that isn’t an issue. The issue is the access to the actual courtroom where this is happening and the fact that there is a limited number of people who can actually get in.”
CNN reporter Lauren del Valle has filed stories and tweeted about the trial. The New York Times, the New York Post, the Independent and The Associated Press have been providing live updates from the trial.

"Ghislaine Maxwell," "Ghislaine Maxwell Trial," "Maxwell Trial," "Epstein," etc. all return tons of results from within the last day or two in Google News.

I've been told anecdotally that many Facebook anti vaxxers are picking up this narrative about the media under reporting this story and they are running with it. I'm not sure what the connection is.

They’re antivaxxers so with a few exceptions aside, that’s what they do. Make connections where there aren’t any.
It’s probably qAnonsense. OMG see! There IS a shady cabal of elite pedophiles! OMG see! This runs so high that the US government is suppressing this story in the MSM. OMG can’t you see it?! This is irrefutable proof!! Vaccines are evil!!!!!!
Edit: I don’t mean that whoever thinks there is media suppression is qAnoner or anything like that. It’s just that they tend to feast on enough of the same “news” and other media that they end up some shared beliefs.

Looks like we're getting to the end of this trial here. She's not testifying saying the government hasn't proven their case beyond a reasonable doubt.
British socialite Ghislaine Maxwell appeared in court on Saturday for a rare weekend hearing where attorneys made arguments about how the judge should instruct a jury on the law in Maxwell's sex abuse trial.
Your Honor, the government has not proven its case beyond a reasonable doubt so there is no reason for me to testify," Maxwell said.

The defense has also asked that she be referred to as Ms. Maxwell vs the Defendant.

Man that’s an arrogant response from her to the judge when asked if she will testify. Not likely to endear herself to the jury with that answer.

In criminal trials it's pretty common for the accused not to take the stand. Stating that the prosecutor has not proven their case is the standard response in most criminal trials. Courts are not allowed to make a negative inference when the accused does not take the stand. Obviously, if giving your side of the story would help, you can't do that if you don't take the stand.

"You haven't proven your case" is just standard rhetoric even with petty matters when lawyers are involved.

In criminal trials it's also the basis for whether someone is guilty of a crime or not. People are presumed innocent, and the burden is on the prosecutor to prove that they are guilty. It's a pretty fundamental part of the justice system.
Prosecutors have to prove all the elements of a charge. So when you're deciding whether someone is guilty or not, you're typically looking at whether the prosecution has proven their case.
So, I guess that would apply to both petty, and other matters....all matters really. Also, both when defence lawyers are involved and not involved.

Putting a defendant on the stand is usually risky in cases where the defendant has a lot to hide that is already known, facts from Epstein's previous trial, his lawsuits etc, as the cross examination allows the Crown to ask questions that open up their ability to enter previously inadmissible facts

It's the standard response for closing arguments, not for giving a reason to the judge why you're choosing not to testify. She comes across as an arrogant ###### saying that. I'd be annoyed if I were her lawyer.

Given how succinct her statement was, I have a feeling she was instructed by her lawyers to say that. How arrogant she comes across really depends on the tone in which she made her statement. She seems so unbelievably arrogant, it would be difficult to imagine her not giving that statement in a snide tone.
