Calgary Flames vs Carolina Hurricanes 7PM MT; SNW
Time to heat up at home and what better way to kickstart another heater than with some eastern foes! Bday game for me as I turn 33 and I’m thinking I’ll add the 3’s together and call it a 6-0 win!

Really, really, really need to get going on home ice.
Bad news is that they have to try to do that against one of the elite teams in the league. Really looking forward to this game, should be fun.

Flames have been the most dominant team on home ice (by quite a large margin, actually) this season by every metric, but only 4 wins in 9 games.
Flames' ranks 5v5 this season on home ice:
- CF%: 60.67% (1st. Boston is 2nd @ 58.46%)
- FF%: 60.67% (1st. Boston is 2nd @ 58.50%)
- SF%: 60.91% (1st. Boston is 2nd @ 59.63%)
- SCF%: 66.08% (1st. Colorado is 2nd @ 58.82%. MASSIVE difference)
- HDCF%: 65.16% (1st. New Jersey is 2nd @ 58.21%. MASSIVE difference)
- xGF%: 66.10% (1st. Boston is 2nd @ 59.12%. MASSIVE difference)
Pure dominance at the Dome this season, at least 5v5.
Have been running into incredible goaltending at the Dome all season for some reason (23.95 xGF at 5v5, but only 16 goals) while not getting the best goaltending themselves (5v5 is pretty good, but overall have allowed 21 goals on 18.3 xGA). Not horrible, but bottom half of the league (Markstrom ranks 25th among goalies who've played at least 3 games at home in GSAA/60), whereas Markstrom has been incredible on the road (2nd among goalies who've played at least 3 games on the road in GSAA/60).
If they continue playing the way they have on home ice, I have ZERO doubt that they will end up one of the best home teams in the entire NHL, and be a force to be reckoned with on home ice come the Playoffs.
Also, I will be at this game, so bringing pure positive vibes for this beautifully coached team.

Quite infuriating really, Flames have outshot opponents 334-216 at home, every goalie seems to have the ghost of Jacques Plante on his shoulder in our barn.

Talk about a challenge. Tough game to get not two days from your last road trip.
But if you wanted another measuring stick game to prove yourself after the deflating one in Vegas, here's your chance to redeem yourself right away.
Really up to the guys. There are a lot of reasons to drop this one or come out slow and tired, or succumb to lack of bounces at the dome again, but if they really want to make this year different they'll bear down and score some goals and keep to the defensive details tonight and steer a big two points home.

Looks like Slavin and Bear are back, but Brett Pesce and Anthony DeAngelo are still out.

Guessing Valimaki draws in. Freddie Andersen in net is also a bold assumption.
This feels different than the usual sleepy games against the Canes the Flames of years past wouldn't show up for. Last 2 performances didn't sit well with Sutter, so I expect a much better showing.

I’m thinking Vali draws in as well and I think as well the flames are gonna show up to play. Really excited to see Lucic - Monahan - Dube again and I’m hoping for a big game from the top line again!

I am unable to use my pair of tickets for tonight's game and looking to sell them (I share season tickets). Seats are located in Section 110, row 8 (right above the tunnel where the hurricanes come out). Season ticket price ~$155 per seat and I will sell them for $125 each ($250 for the pair). DM if you want them. They are hard tickets.

Lindholm will make his old team regret trading him away. 2 powerplay goals coming from him tonight.

Can't wait to compare Lindholm/Hanifin to Hamilton/Fox/Ferland tonight and finally figure out who won that trade.....
