4th line, on the road a lot, is going to get corsi'd due just to line matching from the home team
they are very low event players, which has been very effective for the Flames

Agree, but wouldn't say its been quiet.
He's getting his due IMO.
I just read Dom L in the Athletic has him #4 in his Hart rankings currently.

Great road period. A bit scramble but overall a much better start than last game.

Switch over to the Edmonton game and surprise surprise the Oilers are on another powerplay. 5 for Edm 2 for Minny.

but this is how he has played for he vast majority of his NHL career.
People put WAY to much emphasis on the last season and assume a 23 YO guy will be that way going forward. He was bad last year...no doubt, but who wasnt?
He is a stud...and personally I think he will only get better.

Lewis and Richardson having bad advanced stats are a result of what Sutter is asking of them in their role. Those guys are on the roster as much for their off ice contributions as their on ice play.

The funny thing is the Oilers have played their best game in a long while and are still getting pounded on the scoreboard.
Only starts to make up for the handful of games they didn't deserve but managed to McDavid their way into.

Just me but I see him as even better defensively this year than in the past. I saw some stats on twitter from someone (not some hack) that he should be a Selke finalist at this point. I was surprised when I first read it, but when you watch him play and look at his stats I guess I shouldn't be surprised.

Going back and beating the Oilers is basically the post-Oiler baptism for a new lease on life.

So is this another game in which the Flames' opposition goes the entire game without taking a penalty? Seriously, what is the league record for number of games in a season without a power play, and why is this happening to one of the best possession teams in the league?
