Croatia knocks off Serbia as it came down to the doubles rubber. Croatia awaits the winner between Russia and Germany.

Hats off to Djokovic for even showing up after the long year he's had,but it was going to be really tough when the Croatian doubles team players are ranked #1 & #2 in the world.
Would be a fun match if Nadal and Federer or Djokovic played them to see who would win. I remember team Nadal and Djokovic lost at Rogers Cup the one year I think to Milos and Vasek.

Good for the Russians. First title since 2006 (I think?). And a nice run for the Croatians.

By the way, the draw was made for the 2022 Davis Cup playoffs and Canada will take on the Dutch in the Netherlands on March 4-5 2022.

I'd like to think this isn't the case, but I feel like something is up with the fitness of Bianca to continue to sit out and miss significant events after just returning from two seasons of barely playing tennis. It doesn't really seems like an anxiety or true mental health issue the way she has phrased this - which would be totally understandable.
To me it seems like she's suffering from the Raonic case of having a body that simply won't allow her to compete at the highest level week in and week out and possibly just being at a point where she is losing the fire to push through it. This is her prime years and to simply say you're not going to play doesn't add up to me.

Yeah, it could very well be the case HF, I mean she's been battling injuries for several years now and it's not only a physical toll, but a mental one as well. She doesn't make it easy on herself by playing 3 hour long matches either. These last couple of years have been tough for a lot of people, hopefully we'll see Bianca back playing sooner rather than later (would love to see her back representing Canada at the BJK Cup).

I think it can be too easy to take for granted the physical and mental strength it takes to continue to win after you have had initial success. The greats of tennis or any other sport have that special skill to continue to push themselves to stay on top. It makes you admire them all the more.
Maybe Bianca doesn’t have whatever that is, but hopefully we still get to see her compete for majors. She is fun to watch play when she is not hopping on one leg.

I hope everything is okay with Bianca, i miss her on tour. After winning the US Open I never would have predicted how the next few years would go for her.

Agreed. Wish her the best. She gave this country such a special sporting moment. No one can take that away from her.
It would be great to see her out there again. If there's anything the last two years have taught many of us is not to take things for granted -- the mental health aspect especially.

I think Vasek needs a break and it could be a nagging injury that requires rest, he certainly wasn't playing anywhere near his best in the latter part of this year.
I has heard rumblings that Milos might be playing, but Stephanie Myles tweeted this out earlier and it appears Milos isn't part of the team at the moment.
