how do you sign Johnny and Tkachuk if you trade for Toffoli and his 4.25 cap hit?

Just lurkin to go lick more of that delicious oilers fan salt, and I see that they are earnestly discussing trading for Price at full cap hit.
I can't think of anything that would more fully #### the franchises cap structure for the next half decade than this move. Please god please.

You worry about that in the offseason.
You maybe have to trade/ buyout monahan. Or maybe not. Maybe Lucic retires if we win the cup or something.
Anyways, that's what I mean. Worry about that later. Go all in now. We have a legit chance for once, and our core is going to be hard to maintain after this year. Might as well try our hardest right now.

On Tarasenko, I am surprised that he is having the comeback he is, but I am still glad that we didn’t trade Tkachuk for him.
I like the idea of getting Toffoli. And as pleased as I have been with Lucic, if he keeps up his play, he could even have positive trade value. With only 1 year left and a low base salary, he could be enticing to a team wanting to save money while reaching the cap floor. In the off season of course. I wouldn’t trade him this season.

I went over to HF boards and didn't see any such discussion.
I saw some spit balling if he was available with retention but nothing on a full cap Price.

In Junior he was an elite producer, but defensive play was a question mark
Since turning pro, he's become a solid ~#4 defenseman. He's not too different IMO from what Hanifin was back in ~2018ish

Yes. He was put on waivers on Oct 3. However he has reached 10 games played so requires being put on waivers again to be sent down.

He's 23 and has had a decent start to his NHL career on an otherwise bad team. He may not be a top pair guy, but he's an upgrade on Valimaki and Zadorov
